Your photos are truly amazing. They really touched me xD
In fact, I used photoshop to paint some of your images (of course I didn't submit them) because of how beautiful I'd found them!
Greetings from Argentina!

Very nice art, you have a great eye. I just love that morbid style of your gallery.

Hi Simon,
I recently and gladly and as you may have noticed, favouriteβd some of your work. I find it eye-catching and wonderfully composed.
I don't know if you are already aware of the fact, but I am doing a study at college on how people decide if they like or dislike a piece of art. At the top of my DeviantART home page, I had a statement outlining the study.
I've just been reported to the staff here on DeviantART by an artist for intellectual property infringement, and was very saddened and shocked by this. As a result, I wish to fully inform all those whoβs work I favβd to let you know that no infringement of your intellectual property was intended, or will occur at any time during my study. Furthermore, if you want to me to remove you from consideration, or if you wish withdraw at any time later on, please let me know. No profit is or will be made from this academic endeavour, and all images are used under the fair uses rationale (low resolution image only, all credit to the artist, academic purposes only, etc). None of the works used will be printed, but instead will only be displayed on a computer screen for a few seconds.
If I am not banned, I plan to continue posting updates of my study, and the final findings in or around March 2008.
I hope that you would feel positive about this, fully informed, and would like to take part. If you have any further questions, please contact me, and I will be only too happy to clear anything up, or just have a chat about the study, art, or anything else.
Regards,
Olivia Rohan
D-ciz-N
p.s. My apologies if I have already contacted you in relation to this, but since I want to ensure that everyone is kept informed, erring on the side of caution with the sheer number involved will have the occasional double-up.

thank you yes Cambodia, despite its tragic and savage history, is a place of beauty once you stray off the well trodden tourist routes.

I came across your work from ^Staged 's surreal gallery, where I was featured as a model.
Never before have I been so enamored by a gallery. You brought me nearly to tears with each series.
I especially was touched by your documentary of the Cambodian Trust. I am a music therapist, and have worked with children with similar....if not more severe exceptionalities in the US. It is amazing that you have the ability to document and share with the world. We have so many privacy laws in place in the US, that it becomes difficult to share what happens behind the walls of full time residential centers. I also explore many abandoned psychiatric, and what the government once coined 'feeble minded' centers...and see many similarities in my discoveries to your desolate shots.
Never stop your documentation. Your work is terrifyingly beautiful.

Thanks your comments are much appreciated. Not all of the work i document is able to be displayed on public sites as its nature is too sensitive. What you see here on DA and other sites like Flickr! and Ball-Saal are but fractions of greater stories. The work is made using film cameras, documented in the traditional manor. Scanning and digitizing the images (which i do myself) so that they can be seen online, takes me forever (hence the gap between uploading images here on DA!) but i accept it is one of the only ways to get the work out into the public domain.
