Wish I could answer that I was, but I fear that I am not. Had to put one of my dogs down just before my birthday; so soon after losing the cat. Poor old Frankie had gone lame, and was in debilitating pain. A 14 year old rescued pug, we're all surprised he lasted as long as he did, but it's still quite saddening. Tonight especially, the sadness is crushing.

Thatβs heartbreaking; I donβt think any words can sufficiently express how horrible that must feel. Iβm so sorry for your loss...

Hi. I'm just wondering if you got the tag for the symphony and have been able to listen to it yet.

I got the tag, yes, but haven't secured time to listen to the whole thing yet. Apologies.

Just to let you know, I haven't forgotten about the journal topic you requested in July about biblical signs and miracles. I apologize for the waiting; I struggle with the motivation sometimes to get things like this done in a timely fashion. I have gotten back to it today, and it should be done within a week, probably sooner.

Brilliant.

I notice youβre from the Canada. Iβve always loved Toronto and hope to someday see Vancouver!
Β
I've found that a lot of people here in the U.S. don't know much about their own country, much less anyone else's.Β
Β
Part of the reason I post prayer updates about different countries is to raise awareness about what's going on in the rest of the world.
Β
Recently Iβve started a personal initiative; if I notice someone on DAΒ is from another country, if I've done their country I let them know. Itβs my way of letting them know that others are thinking about their home.
Β
This update is about your home!

Do keep in mind that there is a fair deal of regionalism in Canada. I am from Alberta, which I often joke about as being "The Texas of Canada" due to the oil industry and right-wing politics, and we don't always see eye to eye with the rest of Canada.
There's an interesting idea. Perhaps you could highlight different prayer issues in different regions of diverse countries. An article on each U.S. state, for example. It would be something to do when you've gotten through the 200 or so nation-states in the world.

I should definitely consider that since I'm nearly done with the nation states
after nearly five years!

If there is a hidden comment before this one, then my test worked. If there is not, then the test returned a negative result.

I'm going to test to see if a removed comment leaves a placeholder. If there is a hidden comment after this one, that is what it is for.

Was reading your comments to Aclockworkkitten. You very definitely put a LOT of thought into your words. You have no idea how much that is appreciated!

Thank you very much. Yes, I put a lot of thought into internet comments. It gets to such a point as I'll spend over an hour on a single reply(As is the case with some of my comments to Clock). Unfortunately, I don't think I put as much thought in when speaking in person, but then again, I'll think so far ahead in debates that I'll forget my original points while considering the new information. Which reminds me. A while back I took an aptitude test of some sort, and while I don't remember the test itself, I scored highly on verbal and non-verbal reasoning, but average on working memory and processing speed. The first two are likely representative of the thought I put into discussion, while the latter two seem associated with my propensity to forget what I'm talking about. As I said recently IRL, my train of thought derails and I have to search the wreckage for survivors.
I likely do not have much idea how much it is appreciated, but I can gather an inkling of it by considering all the non-thought that goes on nowadays, both on-line and IRL. Having somebody who actually thinks about what they say must be refreshing after dealing with countless fools. And one can only take so much of pitying the fool.

SingABrightSong In reply to AClockworkKitten [2013-03-20 22:23:36 +0000 UTC]
I've been sick lately. I've been doing well academically, though I am falling a bit behind on homework. In the art world, I'm preparing to release my first album, though I haven't written a new song for a while.
A bit rough, eh? I noticed a bit of your journal before it was deleted, so I have part of an idea. Would you like to talk about it? I warn you that I am fairly opinionated, so I may not be the best person to talk to, but I do want to help, if that's okay.
Shalom.

Yeah, I'm just sick of total strangers telling me what's wrong with me. It happened yesterday when this lady told me that God was a hateful monster.

SingABrightSong In reply to AClockworkKitten [2013-03-20 22:46:53 +0000 UTC]
I'd say that God's esteem is greater than the esteem of people.
In your reading of the Scriptures, does God come off as a hateful monster? I guess it depends on your definition of "hateful monster". An anti-theist would probably say yes, "Mainstream" churches would say no, I myself might contest that the lady didn't think that whatever she said made God a hateful monster, and extreme fundamentalists might say "Yes, and that's a good thing"

Well, I didn't have a really good answer as to why God allows stuff like disease and natural disasters.
Also, one thing that really bothered me was that she wouldn't listen when I explained that predestination and free will aren't exclusive.
