# About me
The Souladonis author, Michael Brock, is a natural lover of language and good stories. He received his B.S. degree in linguistics (the science of language) from Michigan State in 2007. He is fluent in Spanish and French, and was able to wing Portuguese for three months while living in Brazil. He has a working knowledge of martial arts techniques and uses this knowledge to write exceptionally detailed and realistic fight scenes. His favorite video game genre is fighting. His favorite game character is Terry Bogard. His favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho. His writing style takes advantage of his thorough linguistic knowledge, childlike sense of humor, and millenial sensibilities to craft a unique form of writing that splices the worlds of video games and literature. I'm Dorian (came across you via Twitter, actually!) and one of the CVs for the Literature Gallery on the site. I'm so excited to hear that you're a novelist (since prose-- especially novels-- are my specialty on the site) working with a Neo-Victorian story. Historical fiction has always been my favourite genre and where I've done work in over the years (currently with my own gaslamp fantasy) so I'm definitely interested in checking it out.
