You're absolutely right. I used to dislike Yami/Atem when I was younger. I just didn't like that the main protagonist was exchanged for him. I got into YGO through the manga. The first volumes were about Yuugi and his friends dealing with their normal lives - mixed with some magic and really crazy shit - but once Yami/Atem was revealed and it became clear that he is indeed another person, Yuugi barely showed up. That made me so mad and angry, that I really despised Atem for this.
Nowadays I like both characters, but I still think that Yuugi deserves so much better.
It's good to know that I'm not the only one who feels that way! >3<)/

And it's kind of where I am trying to get in my story, too. It's really difficult writing about two characters who already have a deep bond because all the little things already mean so much to them and are special, so it's not really surprising for the reader. When I write about Kaiba and Yuugi I have so many situations I can get them in and have them interact with each other in order to get funny and exciting results, but when it's Jou and Yuugi, I already know it's going to be cute. xD
Thanks again for your input! I really enjoyed reading it! Your feedback is the kind of feedback I like the most, because it shows that you tried to see more in the situation/picture and get your own thoughts out of it. That is what art should do, make the viewer think about it and see stories. <3

You're totally right! I remember having trouble to draw Yuugi's hair too, but then I have read an interview with Takahashi where he said that Yuugi's hair is similiar to a hand. Don't know why, but this somehow helped me. x'D
It's good to see that people like my style and that so many people agree that having an own style is more important than being able to copy someone else.

Honestly i still have trouble with his hair but I saw him draw Yugi while using a leaf as his hair and that helped me~ Yugi’s hair isnlikr a Star shape leaf to me now hehe.
And yes! Personally I love an artist own style! Like the original style of something is special and while it’s cool if someone could copy that style. It would be boring if everyone just copied. It’s nice to see people do things in their own style!

WHOAH, you just mentioned something that really helped me. ;A;
See, I was actually thinking about quitting art entirely, because I am getting older and see myself in a position where I just don't have the time or the motivation to sit down and draw. But not only that, I usually only get comments like "cute" which aren't helpful and I feel frustrated because I don't know what people think about it. Have I made any improvement? Where are my weaknesses? What do they like about it? What can I change to get better and to feel more comfortable with my own progress?
As an artist, who also comments and analyzes other people's artwork, I am very critical with myself and only see my weak points. One of them was that I'm always using the same color's and bg's that could easily be replaced, since they don't add any real feel to the work. My works are, well, "boring" to say it in a nice way. Using the same poses over and over again, the same color's, the same expressions... so I wanted to try out something different. And you're the only one who pointed out the different color's and said it was my best piece so far...

Though yes the colors were something I did noticed right away! I think i been following you for a while now and I think I have picked up on your art style. And which every art style is different and unique, I also believe they can be improve. And I have always loved your style. My favorite part has been the way you do hair. So thats why when I noticed that part in Yugi's hair I just saw how much you improved!
You worked hard all these years with your artwork! I would say don't give up! I know getting time and also motivation to draw is hard and it can be such a pain but once you see when you can do art work like this~ It feels worth it in the end, no?
Nevertheless if you do keep on drawing, I can't wait to see what you have coming up!
