Practice a lot. Also, YouTube. Look up videos on portrait drawings. I started out doing the grid-method where you would take the picture you want to draw and place a transparent grid over it. Then when you draw it, you simply draw each grid, one at a time. I'm sure someone else can explain it better than me. You can google info on that too.
