Hi, thank you so much for the favorite and comments! You have lovely gallery -- it's fun to compare your pieces and see how much you've improved in a short amount of time. Your strengths are in the details (great noses!) and building forms through light & shadow rather than contour lines. For improvement, I would recommend studying anatomy and paying closer attention to proportions. Also, yay for Adam and Howl love!

no, thank YOU! that was quite a useful critique I just received. You're right, I definitely draw from shadow rather than the actual shape of the subject that I'm drawing, and I know that sometimes the drawing suffers for it. Still, I feel that it looks better when I don't TRY to draw a certain shape and just let the shadows form the picture. And you like my noses?! that's incredbile, because it always seems to be the feature I have the most trouble with, except possbily the chin (weird, I know..) Thanks for the advice! (and yay for Adam and Howl, right back at ya! )
