it depends on what you are looking for really, though I mostly take them via auction these days. I'm closed for anything there at the moment while I reorganize & take a few RL commissions.

i have question. artist to artist. i'm doing a koi piece with several kois in water at various depths with lotus flowers and lily pads floating ontop with ripples... i want the deeper kois to be visible but not too much so, keeping that deep effect. i was thinkign about washing the background but i haven't the slightest idea how to get the ripple effect of the water. how did you do it? lol thanks for your help

<3 A lot of it is going to depend on the medium you are using. Watercolor is one of my favorites and with that you really do have to do a little planning ahead. Anywhere you will want to have reflected light 'glinting' from the surface you'll want to avoid setting down any paint - since the white of the paper/canvas will be whiter than any white paint you can apply.
Then I'd suggest finding a couple photographs that have a similar look to what you are trying to emulate - for reference and to help you to figure out how the light/shadow work together.
Then it's about layering your color and just working layer after layer until you feel it looks right. ;>.>
... I'd suggest looking for a few watercolor tutorials around DA since too. ^____^;

Thank you very much! i've actually just smooth shaded the entire thing w/ pencil and it's coming out quite amazingly (haha terrible grammar). i'll have a post a pic later of it. Thanks for the advice though! i am working with watercolor on the side and it's actually a lot more fun than what i had originally thought. thanks again!

Urgh, between my artshops and my DA and spring getting closer I have been so swamped under that I haven't had time to visit the forest < T_T > *shamefaced* I know I need to get around to it... Poor neglected Light and Hoot and the Nameless one have been at the back of my mind bellowing for some TeF time. <3

| awww, poor Corvus! < T_T > Light tries to visit him every time she has seen him in the Forest, but he always runs away and she is so scared of driving him further from Rou that she usually backs off and won't chase him...
