Heck at least music theory is better than Lord of the Flies. Usually when I write an essay, I type it in whatever format I like and then reformat it to fit the teacher's demands after I finish but before I submit. But then again I'm only in middle school, so maybe it's different for you?

except i mean everything we've read this year was garbage too if ur curriculum in 10th grade includes brave new world or things fall apart prepare urself for some of the most insane books lmao
ya thats what i usually do as well but unfortunately it has to be minimum three pages in 11pt font and i didn't write nearly enough whoops
