# About me
I'm a nutcase, a dreamer, an old soul, and a banged-up-beat-up Christian.I may be creative and sweet, but I am also very blunt. Expect me to speak my mind, for better or for worse.
What I really want to do is make a new home for myself, figure out what projects I should finish, and feel happier and more peaceful.
I love to draw cartoon animals, plants, food (especially cake), and the occasional dress or costume. I can also bake, sew, write, voice act, sing, and play the harmonica. I'm sure I have a few other talents, but right now those are the main ones that come to mind.
*** Currently employed-ish at Stretch Films Inc., but would be happy to make money in other places ***

Why hello there, we've not been introduced, I am Maxwell R. Hurlock, but you can just call me Max, I'm an aspiring artist/writer and would LOVE to be a part of "Spritewood" if you'll have me. However, I must say right up front, that I'm not a professional in any sense of the word, just someone who loves to create and imagine! Good luck on your project, even if it doesn't work out with me being a part of it!

I'd love to add you to my team, provided you have something to offer. What can ya do? What do you like to do?

Well, I could help with the art and animation aspect of it. Or perhaps even the script/dialogue if you need any assistance there. I would love to start somewhere in regards to animation while I'm still young, and this could be a great start, especially for future references!

Not job experience, I mean what you're practiced in. Do you have a portfolio I can look at?

These aren't bad! I highly recommend colouring them on the computer, though. Traditional scans don't sell well online.
Have you tried animating yet?

Yes I have, but not for several years, I used to have a flash animation program but I lost it and haven't gotten anything since.

Hello there! Before I begin, I must say I looked over some of your art, and wow! Very talented! I shall comment soon as well!
Anyway, for my reasoning of leaving a comment here, I was having an interesting conversation with ZumbaZyn [link] about her most recent piece [link]
She brought up something about "Spritewood" and said you were the lady to discuss this project with. I do not mean to pry, but am curious about such an ambition project. Once again, if you rather not discuss, i totally understand.. but I thank you for making something about a very serious subject.
Have a blessed day!

Oh, why thank you! I appreciate that!
Yes, I know ZumbaZyn very well~
I'm Spritewood's creator and the "mastermind" behind the project. I've been trying to pitch it to various producers of late, which has been a fun experience. I'd be happy to tell you about the film... I love being interviewed about it
It's tremendously nice getting such attention! I do believe you messaging me is a blessing in and of itself

Wow great to hear! Honestly, was merely curious about what the project was and the details on how it is going in development so far, just as a curiosity.
Reason being, is it is a subject that both angers me, and something I wish to help out if possible. Especially with my second cousins, seeing that crap was not right, (and thankfully was dealt with according).
Anyway, I admire such a thing exists... and as I told ZumbaZyn, I admire those who stand up for those who cannot do so themselves! Thanks for your time!

It's been in development since 1997, so it's not a new project by any means. We are currently writing scenes for the final draft of the script, as well as pouring ourselves into as much concept art as we can churn out. Everything will be put into my pitch bible to reference later.
Spritewood is actually the story of my life and Christian testimony. I was abused by my grandfather, who King Mangosteen is closely based off of. I can certainly relate to your anger and concern... I started writing Spritewood to both help myself and other children who are suffering from the same conditions as I was.
I always loved cartoons, and when I was hurt I always escaped into them. Some of my biggest role models growing up were Disney characters like Dodger from Oliver and Company and Sarabi from The Lion King. I loved films that were not only entertaining, but prepared me for situations I would encounter in my life. Spritewood is meant to fill the gap that I had as a child... there were no cartoon characters braving the perils of abuse from a father figure (at least none that I knew of or wanted to see.)
If you really like Spritewood, you should get the word out... this project has come very close to being scrapped for a variety of reasons. It would be nice to have a fan base pushing me up the ladder! And thank YOU for paying attention to me!

Wow! I had no idea.. I am glad you are pushing for something that you both strongly believe in, and something personal as well. While I was unable to directly stop the abuse that DID happen to my poor lil 2nd cousins... I was able to assist in helping there wouldn't be anymore (and make sure the person never comes back, the day the sentence is over)
Anyway, ranting a little.. I'll do my best to spread the word.. I don't have many watchers, but.. with your permission, may I include this conversation on a journal entry I am planning on writing? If you don't mind, I can at least get some people on my watch list aware!
You are a wonderfully strong woman to be doing this (take that as flattery or a flirt, I don't mind either way I am silly!)You are most certainly welcome. Though I cannot take back said pain that was suffered I can at least stand up and try to stop things for happening in the then and now.
Take care!

Yikes, yikes, yikes! Yes, protecting and valuing children is a valiant and honorable thing to do. Good on you

My own pain and suffering (as well as my creativity) would go to waste if I didn't use it to help other people.
