The problem with your forum thread was that you seemed to assume all writing on this site had to be anime-related; let me assure you that the tendency is that all good writing here has nothing to do with anime. Sure, we have a bunch of fan-fic writers hanging around (way too many), and I'm almost certain there are some "original" characters as well (meaning they changed some colours on their favourite character's schoolgirl outfit), but those folks don't hang around in the writers' forum. The crowd you can meet there are mostly very serious about their craft, are more likely to be charmed by Hemingway and Vonnegut than Pikachu and Sailormoon, and most of them are also full-time cynical bastards. This to explain why your post met with so little useful feedback.
If you're interested in good, original writing, we don't really bite very hard unless you behave in some truly odd way. For me, there's a huge stigma of "STUPID" attached to the whole world of cosplaying and anime and what-not, but I do praise your contest for the encouragement of *original* writing. Good luck finding participants (you might want to check the drawing/anime forums; most of the "character creation" happens there, I think)

Pardon me hun, but your "reply" should have been sent in a private note, it has no place on my user page. And I don't know what you "assumed", but I had the thread locked because of moronic replies and I received quite a few moronic notes from these so-called writers, most of whom do not know how to properly utilize a period.
Just because you don't like cosplay doesn't mean that it applies to all writers, please remember that. Your note was unnessecary and if you have anything else to say, do it in private notes, I don't like seeing forum-related nonsense slapped on my user page.
