Originally I was going to hold the gun behind my back- to give it an air of impending chaos and mystery... I mean When a girl is all dressed up and has a gun behind her back shes either a badass spy, out for revenge, or just plain up to something.

Instead (okay I know I had a really crummy background- but that's why people do manips right? To take out what they want?) I had the gun up in the air in sort of a "hmm, I'm picking out my target"

And the reason I stuck with the shot from behind was because I wanted to emphasize the curves of a woman (okay that sounds narcissistic because they are mine)- but to show that they can be beautiful... but very deadly.

And dresses and guns.. come one... thats badass.

Well personally i agree completely with what you're saying. I think you should come up with more pics like this, buts that's just me. it's too good to have just one pic. and yes, some girl in a dress would be up to something. and the curves, those look good to i hope i never meet you with a gun. how did your date manage? or did he? lol

There are some other ones in this series... but my sister was the photographer.. she.. well... isn't the best. The best one I thought came out blurry, and she messed up the others.

Well my boyfriend had trouble finding a suit, so we went to a second hand shop and bought one last minute. He got to hold the gun for a bit. Later on we got to sit in his parents car with his dad's guns (a rifle and if memory serves another hand gun). It was a miata we were in. So extra badass effect with a convertible. I should upload those at some point.
This year the weather was terrible and we had planned on reshooting these pictures (he has a MUCH better suit now) but it rained on us. Some other time I think we shall.

He managed, but I got to play around with the gun first. I'm a bit of a tomboy and from a very rural area. I hunt, it is an important source of food in my family and saves us a great deal of money. I've been hunting since I was young and could shoot a gun or a bow as long as I could remember. So I'm no stranger to those.

Later on when I get a nice camera (I lost mine ) I plan on having a friend (who can actually take photos) take some shots of me shooting a recurve bow. I have NO clue what to wear or what theme I should do. Any suggestions?
I plan on doing it in sort of a "huntress"/Artemis like thing. But I'm not sure how to go about all that. ahhaha

No! the typing is fine! i prefer these conversations! the ones where people trade compliments and what not are just so boring. anyway, i see what you mean, and the Miata does add some spice to the scene. and yes, you should definitely redo it. as far as the huntress theme and what to wear...hmm...it depends, like what you really hunt in, or like some kind of sexy, athletic/built huntress. this might sound stereotypical but i would go with a sexy and somewhat skimpy look. idk. i would definitely incorporate leather, maybe pants and some archer gear. you like recurve bows? obviously you should use that. maybe a vest of some sort, maybe once again go with leather. to add some umph to it i would use tribal body paint. that's all i got lol. and thank you for the llama badge

I was thinking once again something tight, and sorta skimpy...

And then I was thinking, if I were able to get the light, something sorta flowy, that would emphasize wind, and I could make the hair flow as well. I just wanted that to capture the moonlight really... sorta give her this 'night' feel. Like some sort of midnight huntress that hunts by the light of the moon.

Then I see this athletic girl, with some tribal markings on her face and a feathered armband. Boots that lace up and some sort of knife. What you would think about in a typical (albeit sexy) feminine huntress that likes to show off. She'd be kneeling and drawing the bow, or perhaps hidden up in a tree.

Okay I'm not trying to sound like a creepy feminist, not at all.
I want to illustrate the mysteries of a women- not the kind that do house work... we all know "well behaved women rarely make history"... they're also boring.

I want to capture, a strong, proud, defined and elite huntress. Independence- so that the men will chase her but never catch her. I want her to be a mystery and a sight that you don't quite believe.


Ahahahah! If I were better at drawing people I would draw that. Maybe I'll give it a shot someday.
