Nop Stencils are not hard to do if you start small, it'll take time so you'll find what kind of paper/paint/blades to use, and there is many technics to make stencils, with our without a computer. Good luck.

Yeah I saw it a few days ago, it's awesome! Nice workspace you have there.
Do you use a particular type of paper for your stencils? You don't have to say I know some people are protective of their technique and materials

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheArtofBlouh In reply to deadwitchy [2014-02-12 07:10:49 +0000 UTC]

I wouldn't do videos about how I work if I was protective, I'm more in the sharing tought.
About the paper I use, it's a very thin paper but with a water resistant side.
I actually don't really know what kind of paper it is, I just found it in an abandoned paper factory, I guess it was used to make thumbnails.
Some friends helped me to take it, the roll is heavier than me !
But it's not very strong, that's why I only use simple forms.

A strongest one should be better if you can get some, but it's a bit expansive if you wan't to make big stencils.

deadwitchy In reply to TheArtofBlouh [2014-02-14 15:05:31 +0000 UTC]

Awesome find with the paper !!
From your video it looks like you just draw the stencil onto paper first?
If so, that is amazing ! I just print mine.. haha

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheArtofBlouh In reply to deadwitchy [2014-02-17 07:10:28 +0000 UTC]

It depends, sometimes I cut them directly and sometimes I draw them.
And then the opacity allow me to draw other layers from the original black layer by superposing them.

deadwitchy In reply to TheArtofBlouh [2014-02-18 22:27:15 +0000 UTC]

Nice! It sounds like great paper

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheArtofBlouh In reply to deadwitchy [2014-02-19 06:46:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it could be better, I believe the kind of paper c215 is using is better because he's more strong and allow you to cut bigger but it's harder to cut.
Anyway, yes for a free paper it's a great paper, and it's a great lesson, you better use what you find.
