# About me
I am a DA lurker who finally joined up (and it's about time too!).EDIT: Apparently, I'm also a bit of a Severus Snape fan. You know, just a smidge... I favorite an unhealthy amount of SS artwork.. stay awake till 4am reading fanfic.. have SS-related tattoos.. some might lable it "obsessed." Meh.
I am a RABID David Bowie/Labyrinth fan (I write fanfiction- does that tell you enough?), and a lot of my art centers around these two things. I also love Dragons (mostly mideval style, not asian style), Owls & raptors of all sorts, snakes and lizards (I have a small zoo myself), and all animals in general.
I mainly work in 3-D art including various fabric items, leatherworking, woodburning, hand-crafted feather pens, though I do create 2-D art also. I've recently discovered the fun and frustration of photomanipulations. :D
I own my own website- www.thecopperdragon.com - and through it I sell my artworks, and help bring a little magic to people's dreams.

Lol, no I got that part okay, I meant if there is a way to save them to the group so I can switch them out? I think I'd probably have to save them all to my desktop somewhere to be able to do that.

Sure. I was stoked to see it because it's something I have been considering doing for a while- I can't really have visible tattoos at work, and short of wearing long sleeves all the time, I wouldn't be able to get one!

Ravensfool In reply to TheCopperDragon2004 [2011-10-08 14:17:51 +0000 UTC]
That was the same thought I had as well, I really wanted to get it as soon as I read the books but a huge black tattoo on the inner arm doesn't thrill most employers. I got mine in the winter so I was wearing long sleeves anyway and by the time spring rolled around there was nothing to see without a black light that is

Hey, thanks for the print request! I uploaded the big print file of Severus today ( I also re-worked him just a bit, because he needs to be perfect) and you can also see it larger in the preview
He's just so awesome I might buy a large one for myself but my daughter will think I'm getting obsessed. She may be right, LOL

"obsessed" is purely relative.
I've gone the entire span of the harry potter books and movies being a fan of snape only as an actor (okay, alan rickman is hot, but anyways) and that snape-bug has really only bitten me in the last six months. must have been blind before that. I will definitely have to go check out the prints!!
thanks for letting me know!

Interesting, me too....
I had listened to the whole series on audio with Jim Dale, way back when, saw all the movies after they came out. Then just before I went to see DH7pt2, I watched 6 +7 part 1 the night before, so I'd remember as much as possible - it had been some time since I'd read the actual books.
But there's something very special about the way Alan breathes life into Snape's character, you can't help but love him with all his flaws and emotional complexity. There's something very real about him, I don't know...like a magic spell he's put on you. I would have loved to see him find happiness in the end - or at least know that someone cared.
Well he was voted the fav HP character from DH7 per MTV by a WIDE margin, hehe. Go Snape! (Alan)
I have another Snape I had started before this one...I got about 75% finished when I changed my mind entirely about the design and there was no extra room on that board to do what I wanted (with this one). I will still finish it and upload it, though. His face has a slightly different expression, but it is similar

Yes- I think maybe that's what suckers so many of us in (besides the hotness of AR)- you feel like you don't quite completely understand him, and you want to!
I've found a few really good fanfiction stories where they've rewritten the ending of DH2; gave him a life/second chance afterwards, and it sounds absolutely stupid, but it kind of helped.

He's one of those wonderful characters who become larger in Death. As the movie series began, he was easy to write off as a plain mean-spirited (almost) unloveable character, but he grows on you the more you get glimpses into his past. Before you know it, he quietly slips into your mind and possesses you.
That was one of his magical qualities, wasn't it?
To tell the truth, I never caught the hotness of AR before this. Guess I don't watch enough movies!
I have probably re-written many endings in my mind, in which he (of course) lived, in every one. I wasn't aware of the fanfic stories, would be cool to read a good one I'm a sucker for happy endings, I always want the good guys to live

I'm still finding more and more good ones, but if you'd like, I can send you the titles of a few I have found so far. It's not yet finished, but Pet Project by Caeria (search on fanfiction.net) is very good, and incredibly believeable.

ok, I started to read it...really well written, in character, I've gone as far as chap. 6
please tell me it's not leading to one of those Granger+Snape stories
becuase I can't ever imagine those two together, no way...she's more than 20 years younger as well...
I don't see where people like to pair them, I don't get it?

LMAO. it's not finished yet, but i LOVE this story so far. I never did understand the HG/SS thing either.
but wait a minute- if wizards live to be 150 years old, what's a mere 20 years difference? that would be like 5 year's difference among normal people. lol.
I would just say if you like it so far, keep reading. if you hate it along the way somewhere, then stop.

do they live that long? 150?
Even if they were the same age, their personalities seem like they would clash. But then, I guess I would think that about Lily, too. Like that comment where young Snape says (about Petunia) "She's jealous..she's ordinary and you're special" and Lily says "That's mean!" I daresay that Snape just spoke the truth as he saw it. Of course their dialogue is a bit different in the book, I think (mine's on audiobook, a pain to look up and compare).
I can picture Snape liking her romantically but not them being bff's. Just me I'm not sure I would pair him with anyone from the books or movies, I'd have to introduce someone new.
Yes, I will, it is well written for certain. It must be as hard to write in somone else's style as it is to paint like another artist.
Reminds me of AR's new play...he's another sadistic professor/teacher who eviserates his students. I think he loves that kind of role, being arrogant and superior...he plays it so well

Oh, I don't know- don't they say that Dumbledore is around 150? That could have just been guessing though.. Ok, I'm a nerd so I looked it up- HPLexicon gives dates that say he would be 112.
My guess, at the very least, is that they remain healthier/active/mentally coherant longer than regular people would at the same age.

cool, I'll check it out, thanks!
I've never read much fanfic because so much of it is often creepy/weird and totally unbelieveable...but a good writer knows how to tell a convincing story

TheCopperDragon2004 In reply to Cynthia-Blair [2011-09-27 02:23:52 +0000 UTC]
Exactly, or the characters arent actually IN character.. The grammar/spelling is another pet peeve that will drive me up the wall. I've actually not read what looks to be a promising story because I get so distracted by the mistakes, I can't even concentrate!

Cynthia-Blair In reply to TheCopperDragon2004 [2011-09-29 02:20:26 +0000 UTC]
I know what you mean...that's what makes an author good, staying in character. And mistakes in grammar? That's just plain avoidable (spellcheck) and unprofessional for a writer.
I have to get over to fanfic and hunt her down...I got slammed with work this week and was also brainstorming about my other Snape painting...he was mostly finished, but the background...I want to do something entirely different this time.

I have a suggestion for later chapters, how about cutting back to the Underground, that psycho Fae we saw in the Prologue? What;s happening down there, and how are the goblins faring? It's always a good idea to show that, cause if you wait too late, the reader may get confused, etc. These are only suggestions from another storyteller to you.
So yeah, just...what is happening there?

TheCopperDragon2004 In reply to MarissaSunshine [2011-06-07 06:12:47 +0000 UTC]
I'll keep it in mind as a possibility, though honestly it wasnt something I had planned to do. Originally, that would be/become more of a end-of-story or sideline plot to tackle in depth later.
Will keep in mind though..
