of course! i love meeting band kids who are also visual artists, even moreso if we share other interests. i was a percussionist in high school, and being pit section leader (along with playing a ton of kirby games) actually helped me through a bad bout of depression during my senior year. i took a year long hiatus from music after graduating, but i'm actually starting a college symphonic band course tomorrow and i could not be more excited! :0

A college symphonic band course? That sounds amazing! I hope to do something like that when I graduate. I plan on going to a college with one of the best marching bands in the country (which happens to be right in the middle of my town! So convenient!).
I must say, those same things are helping me in a bad bout I'm having this year. Along with other personal issues, my realization that this is my last year of high school marching band is taking its toll on me. I'm really going to miss it. It's really the only solid base I have for social acceptance, friendship, and a sense of belonging. But the friends I've made and the experiences I've had all make it worth it in the end; knowing I've made a mark and a good impression for the rising generations of band nerds to come fills me with determination.

Am I crying?... Yep.
Just a little.

I'm going to miss my altos. D:

oh man don't worry about it! i love seeing other people get emotional about band because it really made high school worth it for me. i'm sure your altos are gonna miss you as much as you'll miss them but you can always come back and visit!

my pit kids love it when i visit them during rehearsals, if only because they can make jokes about how short i am (being a quiet 5'2 girl in charge of a pit full of tall rowdy boys was an interesting situation) and i love visiting because i can get another taste of all the good times i had in high school! i hope you'll get to have that experience too
