Hi Theriona, check out my Macaw pic, I used your technique of underpainting, instead of using watercolor I used oil pastels then went over the feathers with red ballpoint pen to bring out the detail, used a Qtip to spread out the red oil pastel to smooth it out, then used the red pen over that Thanks for your help and showing me another way to draw!
