I've given some thought about the time limits for adoptions. How's this?
Stricter Rules Regarding Submission, Part 2

I spoke my mind. I was honest. Please don't hate me. I've been nervous as hell, to scared to come on DA, 'cause I've been worried what you'd say if I was honest. Please, just don't hate me.

I don't hate you. I may have some problems that I told you about, but like I said- I know you mean well. I do get angry over those things, but it takes a lot to actually make me hate someone- and I've met a LOT of people who've pushed me over the edge. You're willing to help out in any way you can, and that's something I can appreciate in a friend. Its something I'm more than willing to return. I still mean what I said, but its a far cry from actually hating you. I'm sorry if that's what it feels like.
Once again, I appreciate the honesty. That's why I created the second journal. Instead of everyone having the same time limit, individual Mini creators can negotiate with adopters. Additionally, creators only being able to ask for three Minis at a time may take care of the workload issue. But concerning your current dilemma, I can see why its still a problem. I hate forcing people to do things, and I also hate making everyone suffer because of something someone else did. If there's a better solution, I'll be sure to introduce it. Just know that you can send your codes to me, Cybeast24, and the other Co-Founders, and we can help make pictures and bios/updates.

I appreciate it, but I can't even send codes. The touch pad on my laptop is broken, so I can't copy and paste. It's partly why I'm so against this rule. Like I said though, I'm bias in my opinion.

...Wow. I didn't know it was that bad.
Here's an alternative: is it possible to look through your notes for sent codes? You won't have to copy/paste, but you can send the entire note instead.
If not, it can wait. Considering all that's going on, you could really use a break.

Hey, Tim. I know its been tough with the computer issues among other things, but we've recently pushed a new rule in Mini-Frontiers about adopted characters. Characters recently adopted will need to be posted. That said, I can help you create bios/update pictures.
daisyrosiegordy said that she would like to see Penelope an the All-Seeing Eye Mini, in this case.

I'll post them when I can, but Kiskae is buggy for me right now. It may be a while.

PizzaBurgers In reply to Tim15 [2019-02-03 18:33:24 +0000 UTC]
About that...there's a new time limit: two weeks and three days for Contributors, and one week for new Members. If time's up, the person has to relinquish all of the Minis they haven't posted yet. If one Mini is posted though, the timer resets.

I...That's bullshit. I can't get into kiskae right now! I can't post anything! Who came up with that rule?!
π: 0 β©: 1
PizzaBurgers In reply to Tim15 [2019-02-13 10:04:22 +0000 UTC]
I did, with Cybeast24's clearance, of course. But not without a good reason. Most people who adopted Minis didn't use them at all, which infuriated other people in the group, including myself, who worked hours on various designs. Its not fair to work so hard on something for other people, only to realize that your design and idea will never see the light of day again.
We tried to be fair when it came to other people's schedules and such, but so many things were going wrong, including things that shouldn't even be allowed in the group. No one was following the rules, so me and Cybeast24 had to replace them with harder ones.
Like I said. If you need help posting, you can ask me or Cybeast. We can provide a picture, like I have for other people in the group.

Fine, fine. It just sucks that people would take advantage of it when there are others who legitimately want to post but can't. I don't wanna spam you, but I've got lots of codes I need posted. Would it be okay to collab? Should we set up a schedule? I'm on my phone now, and can try to send codes when I get home in a few hours. What time are you free?
π: 0 β©: 1
PizzaBurgers In reply to Tim15 [2019-02-14 01:39:11 +0000 UTC]
Of course. I can only do three at a time, but I'm sure Cybeast24 and daisyrosiegordy can help with the rest. I'm not sure what time'll be the best for the both of us,
but I can try to send them at least weekly. Each character posted resets the timer, so you should be fine in that case. I can improvise based off of who gave you the Mini, and checking which adoption they came from.

I just did a count, and I have forty three in all. I'm gonna try one last time to get kiskae to work tomorrow after work, and if it doesn't, I'll ask for your help. Wish me luck.

Tim15 In reply to PizzaBurgers [2019-02-14 20:44:17 +0000 UTC]
What sucks even more, since my touch pad is broken, and I can't just copy and paste, is that I've gotta type each code individually. So please be patient and pray that kiskae doesn't make my computer crash again. I'll be home around 5 to 530 and can get started than.

Tim15 In reply to PizzaBurgers [2019-02-16 21:58:57 +0000 UTC]
No luck. Kiskae isn't working. Can I say something? Taking minis back is extremely unfair. It'd make more sense to put the responsibility on the one doing the adoptables. If someone isn't posting, rather than taking back minis, just don't allow them to adopt anymore until they post the ones they have. It makes more sense, and allows people in a situation like mine to work on a solution without rushing to meet a deadline. This group is supposed to be fun, and adding a deadline, forcing someone to meet a schedule, betrays the purpose of that. That's just my opinion. I don't want to give minis back, and I'm most definitely biased, but I still felt I should say something.

PizzaBurgers In reply to Tim15 [2019-02-16 22:32:31 +0000 UTC]
I suppose. But say that they're banned from adoptions. It doesn't guarantee that they will post the Mini.
They'd have so many characters in stock with so many great ideas, great potential, just...gone to waste. Wouldn't it make sense to have the
people who are actually active and willing to post have these Minis, that may never be used again?
Adoptions are no longer fun for me. I feel drained. Almost every time I make an adoption, a Mini either doesn't get used, or a person quits and reassigns ownership to someone else- who also quits. I'm done with normal adoptions, I'm done with family based adoptions. I've made myself a new system in the form of infinite adoptions, where you can get the same Mini but with different features and slightly different powers, but even so. One guy asked for seven of these Minis. Where are they? I don't know, but they've never been posted.
Its frustrating. The more I do things for people, the more draining it is when I see that it has no purpose, and that I could've been doing something else with my time. At least you're speaking your part, because GeekyCheese certainly didn't. I tried to help him, I tried to ask him if he was okay with any changes. No response.
I barely have fun with roleplays anymore, either. Sure, I may only do a few, but not much. The only real fun I have is building characters I've accumulated and actually doing something with them. I want people to have that same kind of fun, a lot more than I'm actually having. But in all honestly, the group is a mess. Its a mess I admire, but a mess nonetheless. This is coming from a selfish point of view, so I apologize if I'm coming off as a ruthless dictator.

Not at all. Please be aware though, that you'll be alienating people by giving them schedules. Some may be okay with it, but others won't. I WANT to post. I do. But my computer physically can't. I'm in a position where I stand to lose everything and I have no control of the situation. Frankly, I'm desperate, and scared. I want to be part of the group. I want to see the group grow. Even when I can't post a mini, I still use them in RP's when I can. That said, it IS frustrating when you make something and than someone doesn't use it. That's why the original minis all had overly simple designs, so people could customize them themselves. When people started putting in extra effort, that's when it hurts more when there creations aren't used. I understand that, but I also know that real life can get in the way. I can't tell you what to do. I can't give you a clear answer. But I want to help however I can. Even if I don't agree with your decision, you have my word that I'll support it, and that it won't affect our friendship. That said, if we can find an alternate method, I'd like to go with that instead. I personally believe that we should be stricter about who we recruit into the group, but that's just my opinion. The overall decision is yours. We can't force someone to post, and punishing them by taking the mini away won't take away the code they already have. If they post later, and start arguing with the person who received the mini second hand, it'll cause even more problems. If we screened people before letting them into the group, check there galleries, how active they are, we could see for ourselves if they'd be a good fit. That could help with the problem, if only a little bit. Again, that's just my opinion. Please tell me what you think.

PizzaBurgers In reply to Tim15 [2019-02-17 00:38:30 +0000 UTC]
We do screen people and check their galleries, but its all up to the person giving the adoption. This usually happens:
User: I'd like theΒ Β Β Β Mini.
Creator of Adoption: Are you a member of Mini-Frontiers?
User: No, but I'd like to join.
From there, its up to the person doing the adoption to decide whether or not they want to give the Mini away. But if a gallery isn't up to par (or worse, if there's a chance they might do something really weird judging by their profile), I don't want to just say "no, you can't be here", so I give them a chance. But as an added layer, submissions are subject to vote, so one of us Founders/Co-Founders can decide whether or not the submission is allowed.Β
But you are right about the code remaining.
A person left the group, but they refused to not use the character anymore. So there's not much control over that. Now, I did say that they can use the character, but as long as its not labeled as a Mini, and that people who are actually in the group can go back and adopt that same character so they can add their own twist.
I'm not saying that you don't want to be a part of the group, and taking the time to say this only proves the opposite. I do appreciate you saying this, because more often than not, there's barely a response. But trying to find the difference between someone who's busy and someone who doesn't care at all can be difficult sometimes.Β

Would you like me to help? Like I said, I still want to be part of the group, even if I can't post. If you'd like, I can act as a moderator and screen all of our current members as well as possible applicants. You can tell me what you're looking for and leave the rest to me. As for getting my minis up, Cybeast has offered to help me, so I'm hoping to get that done soon.
Are we okay? You and me, I mean? I know you can't give me special treatment just because we're friends, but I didn't do anything to upset you, did I? I feel like you've been avoiding me lately.

PizzaBurgers In reply to Tim15 [2019-02-17 02:32:56 +0000 UTC]
That would be a big help, actually. When you're all set, I'll be sure to tell you what we're looking for.
About that. I know you mean well, but I'm always afraid to see what happens when we roleplay. Yes, I said I forgave you, but some time later, it happened again with Levin and Victor. I lose my absolute mind when we're battling, and then I get the response "whatever X is doing doesn't work, Y attacks." I can understand if there's set rules behind it, but sometimes it comes out of nowhere. Like when Tyson just decided "I'm gonna be a villain again", and bullied Levin. And when Levin tried to use his Mini against Headshot, he was completely helpless. When that happens, I expect some sort of repercussion to make the character goΒ "Oh yeah, that's wrong", in some way, even a little. And if not, someone calls them out for it. But I almost never see that.
Same with Victor. He's a jerk, sure, but he has training behind him. Why was Victoria able to do something to Tim, and not Victor? There's many examples of these.
Then there's Eisenhower. I can't stand the ark where he's being framed for what happened to Ian. Perhaps its retaliation because I may or may have not made Tim look like the bad guy more than once, and I apologize for that. But its still not fair.
A majority of the time, my characters can't do anything at all, and that leaves a depressing spin on their overall personality. They'd have to react to things like this in some way, right? When introducing a new character, I want to let them have quirky adventures, not for them to suddenly get flattened out of nowhere.
But other than that, I consider you a friend. You're willing to listen, which isn't something I can say about most people. As a result, its only fair to help you out too in your time of need.
