Drawing from life is so important. You don't have to draw things that move. Get a mirror, do some self-porttraits. Draw people sitting still. And, yes, even draw people moving. It's not about how the finished drawing looks, it's about what you're learning. Do some blind contours; draw what you're looking at, without looking at your page. Draw slowly, and really focus. The finished drawing comes out looking like a mess, but that doesn't matter. Do gestural drawings; capture the personality of what you're drawing. If someone is walking hunched over, put in the lines to capture that personality. If someone is walking with a sort of ego, draw the arrogance of his walk.
