Twoje prace są świetne : D Jestem oczarowany lwią częścią konceptów i ciężko mi teraz rzucić coś więcej niż banalne: ,,tak trzymaj!" :]

(ok so I saw that you reply to comments and I decided to jump at the opportunity at some actual help)
hello! im oliver, I'm nearly 14 and I've been drawing for a year. I kinda want to draw in a similar style to how you draw.
your pieces are amazing and a you're huge inspiration to me.
I was wondering if you could help me slightly? or at least give me just a few points in the right direction, since I want to make drawing into a career.
these are the two paintings that I tried to do in sai, with not too much knowledge on what I was supposed to do: fav.me/daptd16 and fav.me/dapaguj
normally I draw with lineart and select and colour colouring: fav.me/dape4nx and fav.me/dapiqr7
and sometimes I do pencil art as well: fav.me/dapms51
any tips or critique would be such a help, honestly.

Hello! Glad to hear I'm an inspiration!
Basically keep going, I think there is no real formula to get gud,. It's all about trying new things, not giving up, searching for inspirations and trying with every piece to do something new. If you feel it's hard, write down what is hard for you and then focus on training it one at the time. You struggle with facial features, study them, with placing objects in perspective, analyze photos and search for tutorials from well-known artists (gumroad has tons of tutorials, but it costs a bit of money). Great books to start with are all books written and illustraded by Andrew Loomis (here are all .pdf legal free www.alexhays.com/loomis/ ). It's a ton of solid, great knowledge. And it's great to expand it further with Scott Robertson: How to draw (he also have YT channel where he explains almost every champter), also How to Render. Great help for me was also James Gurney books Color and Light and Imaginative Realism (more for a painters but I guess it will be my bible if I would finally start using paints xD). On YT it's great to watch Sycra, Ctrl+Paint, FZD School, Xia Taptara (idrawgirls), and I guess the rest you will find by yourself
But the best advice I ever got was to keep pushing no matter what, having fun with it, even if it's fucking hard sometimes, and if something looks valid/bad to you, it will look valid/bad to others. So keep refining it and working on it untill you are happy with the outcome. (www.gimpuj.info/index.php?acti… ) Here you have a gallery with almost every artwork I have done digitally in the beginnings.
You have a great start since you are 14yo. Most of the people start around 20-25yo If you would have any questions feel free to ask, I'll try to answer If I would not forget and will have time XD

thanks! I'll keep this reply in my notifications box so I can look back on it whenever I need to.
I'll make sure to do the writing down my issues thing, it sounds like it could really help~
and yeah lol, I think drawing is the main talent I've kept my whole life. so I reckon I can improve nicely in about 2 years.
I don't have too many questions, I think you answered quite a few. the only question I have is about colouring. one tactic I do is try to do a gray scale painting first, but then my issue is that I have difficulty adding the colours after that. they always get blanked out by the grey, way too bright, or the shading of the grayscale gets covered too much and you can't see it.
I tried doing airbrush painting? but it didn't quite come out right.

I usually wrok from gray scale to colour I tend to say values are more important than colours, and if they are done properly, no matter what colour it would be, it would read nicely. After basically painting BW I like to create new layer with soft light/overlay/color (depends on the light setup) layer, and with like 25% opacity i lay down slight tones and with the time and image progression I saturate colours more.
www.youtube.com/channel/UCfJET… He has pretty neat technique. Also watch artgerm talking about coloruing BW paintings, as far as I remember he was using gradient maps as first step.

the first painting I sent you ("care") was coloured using a lumi+shade layer as well as a normal layer below that. it was probably one of my best paintings so far but it only uses 2 colours. next time I'll add more coloured detail to the skin so it doesn't look so flat :\
I saw that with the DcTattoo guy he basically does the thing that I was trying to do, but he obviously knows how to do it.
I guess the next step is to try and make a proper painting with a background, instead of being cut off. and I'll experiment more with the extra shading/light beams.
(I gotta work on my actual brushes though, most of them dont really do the things that I want them to)

Also learning how the brushes work is also important. It's not about the brushes artist have, but the way they understad how to work with them
