Heh, I'm guessing you came here from FanFiction.net - which means you've read 'The Junior Witch and the Journalist'.

I'm working on chapter 2 of 'The Red Feather', it should be done fairly soon. It's a fun story to write, I've been enjoying working on it - thank you for reading it!

Haha, yes, Neil Gaiman is my hero! What I do isn't exactly the same as what he does, but his approach to art, and life in general, really inspires me.

I would love to receive a postcard, if you really want to send me one - I'm surprised that you would go to so much effort for someone who made an off-hand comment from across the world! I'll send you a note soon, then we can continue the conversation

I thank you too, for all genialities gotten from you!
I learnt your attractive work by the favor.
It takes time to the thing to understand English still and the written thing to do me.
However, it can slowly enjoy your work.
It looks forward to your work in the future in the past now.

You're very welcome - your artwork is fantastic!

I'm glad you like my gallery. And I can understand your English fairly well - I don't know any Japanese, so you're pretty good by comparison!

FloodOfColors In reply to Wai-Jing [2011-06-12 15:41:44 +0000 UTC]

I think your kind warm consideration to be a very glad.
I rely on the translation site very much.
Therefore, the word is a lot or is insufficient and it thinks.
Moreover, it tends to try to show the expression of Japanese in English without malice.
When my sentences cannot be deciphered, it is glad when it informs me of it.
I make an effort being possible to do.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Wai-Jing In reply to FloodOfColors [2011-06-14 08:22:54 +0000 UTC]

Well, I can tell that English isn't your first language - the translation isn't grammatically correct and it sounds a bit funny. I get the general meaning, though. In that way, it's the same as trying to understand someone's artwork - you don't get the specifics, but the message is still strong, which is all you really need in order to connect with other people

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FloodOfColors In reply to Wai-Jing [2011-06-16 02:46:52 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry for delaying in answering.
And, thank you so much for a kind words.
When it looked like the understanding of the artwork, the meaning from which my word was told always thought me to be your similar word.
Does I use inconvenient English, and why did it register in dA?
It is because there are people who answer it if I do good work even if the language is not transmitted.
The language is a very important mode of expression.
However, the artwork is thought that the expression of feeling is possible exceeding the frame of the language.
(However, it is time when it was able to do good work. )

I think that I can make only about 70% in English among feelings of 100% that transmit.
However, it is thought that feelings that can be transmitted are finally about 50% because it is not a good word.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Wai-Jing In reply to FloodOfColors [2011-06-18 15:08:25 +0000 UTC]

I think words and art express meaning in very different ways (I'm writing a thesis about it for my university degree!) but I think they are both very effective for expressing meaning. When I invent stories, I always think of it in terms of both words and pictures, no matter whether I end up writing it or drawing it. Our imagination works like that anyway - ideas are usually both verbal and visual.

It's a shame the translation stops me from understanding your words 100%. But then, since we don't speak the same language, it's kind of miraculous that technology lets us connect even this much
