Hey Elimy, it has been super long, I was reminiscing the other day and was like "I wanted to see if my Hatena friends from back in the day are still on here and keeping up the arting and such."
Anyway I'm super glad to see that some of the gang is still doing art and yes, definitely we should catch up sometime

Thankfully a few of us are keepin up with it, I even got myself back into animation this year which is a nice surprise :]
Do you use any other website apart from DA? I'm pretty active on Twitter, trying to use DA a lil more now too

That's fantastic to hear, I've been trying to get into the animation gig but right now I'm doing digital art commissions and such. I usually use instagram to post my works and I'm in the process of cleaning up my twitter (too many automated tweets from an app I use.) I'll follow you on there when I get the chance. Have you been keeping in touch any of the others since Hatena closed up?Β

Β It's best to start small on animation to get yourself back into the hang of it, that's how I got myself back into it anyhow!
I keep in touch with a few hatena guys, some are just on Facebook and don't interact but you see how they're doing and others still talk semi-regularly.
Most of them are still really rad and great to talk to, some maybe not so much.
I've met a few of em in person too which is p cool.Β
I'm not sure if you've been around recent enough to know me and Lenox are still a thing? We live together now, Ye that happened.
I genuinely don't recall the last time we spoke so I don't know how much you're aware of, HOW DARE YOU BE GONE FOR SO LONG

That's actually amazing to hear about you and Lenox, last thing I remember about you two was that you had to sell your DS to go visit him, Jesus that must've been like 2-3 years ago, that's super awesome. I've been out of the loop for awhile XD.
Yeah basically after the fall of hatena I set up a facebook profile to stay in contact but after a few months I shut it down because I hardly logged into it and redirected them here... After that, basically lost all contact with the hatena peeps. I was going through dark times for them periods of time up to last year because of school finals and depression hitting hard but was able to get over it and now try to inspire people to do art and creating the stuff I like, started to work on my sense of humor and broke my social anxiety to the point it is almost gone, So I'm on the upside for now.Β

Most hatena people either pursued art and now have jobs in it or completely gave up on it
unfortunately most did give up on it which is probably why you lost contact with them, they had no reason to use DA anymore.
If there are any people in particular you want to connect with again let me know I probably still have them added somewhere, most of em moved over to twitter so hopefully it'll be easier for you if you do decide to talk to them.
That's so strange I had the same issues :0 glad you overcame them! Moving away from where I used to live helped out with my issues a lot, getting a job in retail especially helped with social anxiety

Makes sense, well I'm glad a few of the titans are still standing and continuing on with art, I've seen HugelDude, RavingBoy, Yourself, Glen-i, few more still arting around.
Thanks for that, I will let you know if there's a person that comes to mind that I would like to reconnect with
Guess the a common thing with artist, just have to get all them thoughts of "Always wanting to improve" "What if it's not good enough?" and "When will it be good enough?", it just leaves us feeling sad and uninspired to draw more but I think we all have to go through it to get to the point where we say "It's good enough for me and nothing else matters". Self motivation is the strongest key I guess I'm trying to say.Β
