Thanks! Beyond looking at other artists and how they do creatures, I use mostly dinosaurs, reptiles, birds, bats, some insects and fish for main inspiration, trying to find a characteristic or shape I like in each one. Depending on what kind of dragon you're thinking of just comes down to researching animals with those traits that you want.
