I have a new character I'm trying to make a picture for. He's bright blue, neon green and neon yellow. (There's actually a couple questions.)

1. What color wolf would you suggest using for a base image to recolor?
2. What's the best way to go about coloring the wolf? I've tried a few things briefly and they produced effects I didn't like.
3. Tips on smudging? D:

Probably an evenly toned, pale brown-cream wolf (arctics are good) for the best color.

The best way to go about coloring really depends on the program you have though :/

The best way to smudge is by using small, soft strokes (once again specifics rely on your program and your tastes). Try your best to follow the wolf's natural coat pattern though.

I have Photoshop CS3.
Nother Quick question.

My wolf has like silver irises and almost white pupils. What she I do to rid the color in the eyes with out just deleting it coz then it looks weird.

In that case when you go to color select your desired brush and under it's attributes choose color (it should be at the bottom)Pick your color just like you would anything else. If you want the color deeper/darker use the burn tool on it a bit, and if you want it lighter/shinier use the dodge tool (CS3 should have both)

Use a black for the eyes (all it will do is greyscale it). Use the dodge tool to lighten the eyes and make them shiny ^.^ but make sure you don't over do it <3

I actually used the color replacement tool(I discovered it last night. xD).

I never thought about black for the eyes!

a tip given to me when first starting out was if your going to smudge it, smudge the entire wolf.

it worked for me and helped me get more practice smudging but that's about it ^.^;

PRACTICE A BUNCH tooo cuz it'll help
