I'm not sure how much of the story you've been given or how credible the information you received was but I'll elaborate for you as best I can.
Sheepman5003 posted edited sprites of Mega Man from Mega Man 7 and Crash Man from Mega Man - The Power Battles to represent someones character and his character respectively. He was prompted by FanofSMBX to use my Mega Man 7 styled sprite of Crash Man as reference to make his more accurate. I then discover, a couple days later that he had edited my sprite to represent his character. At the base of the description of every single upload I've made to this website I've stated the following:
"All work displayed here is mine and custom made unless stated otherwise, edits and collaborations will always be acknowledged and any original artists will receive appropriate credit.Β
Do not edit or repost my work as your own because I will find out and I will take action."
Sheepman5003 not only ignored this disclaimer entirely, but also did not contact me in any regard to receive my permission to use, edit and reupload my sprite. Needless to say I was frustrated as I've had a long running history of occurrencesΒ such as these so I asked him to either take the submission down or revert his character back to the Mega Man - The Power Battles sprite instead. I was met with hostility and noncompliance as he made it clear that he wasn't going to acknowledge my request. He'd already exasperated my patience so I filed a DMCA takedown notice to remove the offending deviation.
In between me sending off the DMCA report and the submission being removed he made no attempt to remedy the situation at all, claiming that he "Edited it!!", seemingly not understanding that the very fact that he had edited my work without my consent was the sole reason of my frustration. Three days after the report was submitted, the deviation was taken down. Since then I haven't heard anything from him, and I hope that's because he's learnt his lesson.
As for him being 'blocked', I haven't added him to my list of blocked users and don't have any plans to.
