It's very true. Technically Maiko could be a rival ship, but fans of Toko don't hate on Mai, and a lot of Toko fans are just as content with a romance between them as they are for them to be friends or like siblings. xD <3

exactly. and I don't really know any Maiko fans that hate on Toko. the worst Toko usually gets is that old "lack of probability" thing that no one cares about.

that's what makes Toko fans stand out though. They aren't hardcore like Kataangers trying to prove it with their OMG CANONZ!!! or Zutara with their OMG OPPOSITZ ATTRAKT!!!. Toko is just... Toko. Toph is cool. Zuko's cool. They had a funny relationship in the series, and there were none of them [none that mattered at least] getting all butthurt to learn it didn't happen.

it's like what Iroh said: "appreciate the little things in life" (or something like that... I probably raped that quote)
I didn't become a fan of Toko till after the show, but looking back, it was those little moments that Toph and Zuko had that made me smile.

Yeah, they just enjoy the cute/sweet aspect of it, and most Toko fans are just as happy with sibling!Toko as they are romantic!Toko, because it's about their relationship, not the sexytimes (though those are fun too haha)

I became a fan of Toko through a roleplay me and my sister do. At the time, I wasn't shipping anyone because I had just watched up to the Firebending Masters (I got back into the show late in the game xD) so I was busy fangirling the show in general. However, as we were having them interact, they just, worked. Their personalities just worked together fantastically, I've never had an otp that came out of nowhere from an rp like that before.

So when there were moments in Ember Island players and the finale, I had already been hoping for a little more Toph/Zuko interactions, so let's just say I was squeeing WAY more then I want to admit xD They have differences that help them balance out, and compliment each other, but have quirky sides to each other that makes them an interesting yet believable relationship. 'Ow...what was that for??'

they're just so funny together.

Wow, fangirl coming out. Heh. A lot of people have been taking more notice to the ship as a fun, cute alternative to the crazy shipwar avatar suffered. Mai/Katara and Zuko/Aang are fun ones too, solves everything! haha Don't mind me, I have fun shipping everything on this show. <3

Azuki was my favorite slash ship, and it does have SOME validity. I mean... Azula... wearing Suki's clothes.

but yeh, Toko is awesome because it was never really in that crazy shipwar with the rest of the freaky people and stuff. that was one of the things I like about it.

I have a soft spot for Ty Lee/Aang. I think it's because they'd giggle, braid flowers, and talk about clouds all the time. Or you can take it like Ty Lee 'teaching' Aang certain things (I see Ty Lee as a girl that'd do something like that for fun, I wish I could explain it better xD). I think I like it to because I'm a fan of many crack!theories, and one that I thought was plausible was Ty Lee being a descendant of airbenders.

Heh, since I roleplay with my sis, we've fleshed out a fanon avatar world xD Making notes of little things like 'airbenders spent a lot of time in the firenation' for various reasons, far too many to try to explain on my break xDD

It's so fun to talk about ships on this show, but I think it's just because they did such a great job making so many distinct, realistic, and loveable characters.

I warn you, if you get me going on crack pairings, I can go on for hours. xD Azula/Bumi is a fav of mine. In return to Omashu, he was all watching her, so I love the idea that she's creeped out by Bumi (who else could freak out Azula?), and since he likes messing with people, I get the image of him popping up all the time, 'Oh, why, hello there Fire Princess!' and azula's all '-eyetwitch, scoots away-'

YES. SO MUCH YES. Mai/Koh is awesome xDD Not only lulzy, but waaayy sexier then it should be. You wouldn't happen to know what I'm talking about when I say 'the avatar kinkmeme'? xD That was the first place I heard about Mai/Koh, back when I wasn't as much of a shipper, and thus didn't think too much about the possibilities.

Don't forget about Maitara. I fell in love with this ship because of my roleplay, because we've decided that Mai is a sexual deviant, of sorts. Writs slash, ships Zuko/any guy, super dom, ect. And yet she still doesn't really care about sex, just that it's more interesting then most things girls talk about haha. The idea just seems to fit her character for reason xD And Katara's an eager-to-grow-up girl that's got many, many a kink (though she's shy, she's very, VERY willing to open up)

haha We try our best to keep them in character, while still filling out a little more about them, and these things just happen xD Mai: 'So, Zuko and Aang are hot together, y/y?' Katara: '...uh, um..well, I...er, yeah actually, they are.' Mai: 'wanna make out?' Katara: 'sure!'

Azulaang isn't quite as much of a crack ship as the others, but gosh, that pairing is close to Toko and Zukaang for me. It's just SO dsyfunctional, and she would torment the living daylights outta him. xD

Toph/Zhao is a winner in my book. Toph beating him up constantly, pissing him off constantly and challenging his ego, and Toph would find his anger highly amusing. Not romance really, but I'd love to see them interact for 10 minutes. xD

Azulaang? that one's creepy... poor Aang. I might not like him too much after Sozin's Comet, but that would be torture. Have mercy on the little guy.

I like Sokka+Azula for some reason, and that's a recent ordeal. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but something about it is sort of well... cool.

and of course, Toko, Azuki, and Zukaang will always stand tall in my books. Always and forever.

Oh she definitely wears the pants. xD And yeah, Mai is seriously the only person that would/could dom every single person on the show. Without question. It's just because she doesn't care so well that she's just naturally a perfect dom xD

haha yes, Azulaang is creepy, but I can't help but have a love for the destructive relationships, like Jetko and Ty Zula (I like the thought of Ty Lee being deeply in love with Azula, but Azula just using her senselessly, sorta like the Joker and Harly xD). I always hate reading good fic that do those types of relationships right though, because I always end up thinking 'dammit just leave them already! noooo you don't deserve this /wrists'.

Sokka Azula is a good one too xD I haven't thought enough about it to really know what it is I like about the pairing, I just know it's a good one haha. Don't forget about Sukoph though! xDD

Replace Azuki with Azulaang and you've got my top three down pat You remind me that I need to go read some Azuki... <3
