BTW, can you explain what exactly SOPA is? I've seen the name around a lot... but I'm not really sure what it's about, only that a lot of people hate it.

It's a bill being considered by the US government that would make any website featuring previously copyrighted material shut down and fined, in an attempt to stop online piracy.

But it would mean if you were to use, say, a screenshot from the Lion King as a personal avatar on someone's webpage, Disney would have every legal right to shut that entire website down. There's a lot more to it than that, but there's lots of other places better at explaining it than me if you just put SOPA in any search engine. It's a blatant disregard to freedom of speech on the internet, so lots of people are trying to make sure it never comes to pass.
