I've been cosplaying for about 5 years now, a lot of trial and error, my mom taught me how to sew when I was younger and I always had a fascination with costumes. I modify or make a lot of patterns my patterns, they don't fit right otherwise! Also craft foam armor is your friend!

Thanks for the tips! :) (Smile) I have to ask though... did you handsew your Rogue cosplay? I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to sew spandex/lycra, so that is one that I really want to do but I'm amazed at whenever I see people do it as successfully as yours.

No problem! And yes I did, well, with the machine, but I made and patterned the bodysuit all myself, and I actually did hand-stitch the jacket :) (Smile) A lot of math involved with the bodysuit pattern, but I found a great tutorial on how to make it!
