Hey there.Okay, me...
My main interests have to be music and drawing. I'm a clarinettist, saxophonist and drummer mainly and my favourite band's GNR. I do traditional drawings, usually of faces. I also love Doctor Who. I'm an INTP (my Jung/MBTI personality type).
I pretty much just post journals nowadays. I draw occasionally but infrequently.
Favourite genre of music: Rock N' Roll, GnR style. Gritty, Bluesy Rock and Heavy Metal.
Personal Quote: "My mind is my greatest distraction." Found it on some forum.
Favourite Song: Estranged. It just is. It feels like an integral part of me and I love it almost entirely.

Er.... my friend tells me that I came to her having got excited about Welcome to the Jungle on Guitar Hero 3. She was into GNR already so she showed me tons of music. It's still one of our main mutual interests today, actually.
Hm, I think I was probably twelve or thirteen. I know I saw Metallica at Sonisphere when I was fourteen and I'd been a fan of both by then for a while. I wore my GNR hoody all weekend there, actually.
Yeah, I feel the same. I think that their music was dependent on having those particular members of the band because they all brought something irreplaceable to it. Their solo stuff doesn't sound as good because the musicians they have to work with just are not as good as the gunners were in their prime. Axl's new music isn't bad, but I usually discount it because it is just a completely different style, from a different era and written by mostly different people. It's not just the band that's become famous - the members have become cornerstone characters of rock n' roll. The new people are just fairly anonymous. They're like most other band members are to me. The music's alright, the guys are alright, but I don't care that much about them, don't relate to them, don't connect to their music, etc. It's not that they're bad musicians or bad people. They just have an impossible task in front of them if they hope to equal the original gunners - or come anywhere close.

Hehe, I bet you could if you put the time in. I think the reason I developed talent at all is because when I got to secondary school I found everything too easy, below the level I'd worked at in primary school which made listening seem pointless to me, so I switched off and started doodling. Also some of my friends drew. After a few years of basic doodles I finally started being able to draw something decent. Even now I'm only usually able to draw from reference, although I do know basically how to draw certain things now, and though my drawings look decent they don't look much like the reference in the end. I like them, but only after I've forgotten the reference enough to appreciate them in their own right.

That's really cool that your friend was a Guns fan even before you so that she could introduce you to more of their music. ^^ I have no friends who like Guns except for my online friends. I do talk to my dad about it when he's willing to listen. I don't think he pays any attention though.
Oh, you like Metallica? I've always loved them. They're a really amazing bad and I think it's awesome that the original lineup is still there for the most part with the exception of Rob, of course. You have a GnR hoody? Lucky! I want one! Or maybe one of those "Where's Izzy?" T-shirts, lol.
Same thoughts here about the solo works. If everyone could get together and work beyond their differences, amazing things could happen, I think. I don't particularly love Axl's new stuff. Like you said, they're pretty anonymous. I don't love any of the guys and I can't really relate to them. I actually prefer the solo works of Izzy, Slash, and Duff over Axl's new band, but that's just me.
