it's a spin-off that takes place between the first and second game of the series. shit's going down.
you've got komaru, who's the younger sister of makoto. she's been locked up in an apartment complex (i think it relates to the motive vid makoto watched in the first game?). she has no clue what's happening in the outside world, so when a monokuma bot breaks into her apartment she's just "the fuck????/" and runs.
while she's trying to escape, she finds byakuya (bitchyakuya but we don't tell him that) who gives komaru a hacking gun and tells her to escape. you also see people being g a m e e n d e d so that's fun.
komaru doesn't end up escaping tho (hit a fat F in the chat) and is captured by the warriors of hope. aka all of them who i want to protecc except for the broccoli looking little shit. she can

they also hate adults lmao.
so, they force her into a demon-hunting game, tag her with a bracelet and drop her into the city. so that happens.
she also meets toko which is great.
