It's okay! I returned after a two-year absence to dA, right in the middle of this spybot business, and didn't know about it until I became a victim myself. I guess this is one of those situations that catch you by surprise if you're unaware. Still, "burn in hell" is a little harsh. Instead of acting in anger next time, try asking what's going on first.

Is your account okay now? I had to wait a bit after changing my password before things got better.

Yeah, I was in a super-crappy mood. My day was just all wrong and some idiot on YouTube kept yelling at me for no reason.

The same happened to me, only I came back after being gone for about a month. I clicked, thinking it was nothing. I also fell for a spamming message -_-; Then I read my friend's journal about how one should NEVER click those messages because of the spyware stuff. Then he said that he never passes that stuff on or sends it, making me think that it's a choice whether to send it around or not.

LESSON LEARNED: Don't yell at people before you know about what yer yelling at 'em for.

Indeed. It's funny how folks that, 20-odd years back, wouldn't have bugged us do to distance, manage to irk us off from miles away. Ah, technology.

Just a small bit of advice, but those blasted spam messages are still visible on your gallery's homepage. It's best to either delete them (or mark 'em as spam) so that others can't get duped. Just lettin' you know!

No they haven't.
They won't have control unless they change their passwords. It's the only way to put a stop to this nonsense.
