I can't complain, but somehow I still manage to. ^_^ Just did some writing and drawing recently (original charas but in the One Piece world) so that was good. Otherwise life keeps me pretty busy.
Going to a con called Nauticon this year: [link] which some of my friends from Anime Boston are putting on. I'm not going to any of the big ones anymore, it's just too much! But this one sounds like it'll be mostly socializing so I think I might really enjoy it. Plus I LOVE the Cape!

Hey, AKS. I remember reading Dragonball AD at Kiadi's Character Shrine. It was the first DBZ fanfic I had ever read, despite I didn't know what fanfiction was back then. I just enjoyed reading it, although it was a start.
Anyways, I was reading about your opinion regarding Mary-Sues at fan history and I agree with you. There is a difference between a female fan character and a Mary-Sue/self insertion. My only problem with Mary-Sues is the amount of effort and creativity into the OC which I've been seeing very little of lately.

Well hello! I'm glad you remember me and my story. When I started writing it I didn't know what fanfiction was, either. That was all of 11 years ago~! Yikes! Kiadi's site is still out there, as is a pared-down version of my own site [link] with all my dbz fics, though I forget if I revised them there as well as on fanfiction.net... hm...
It is a shame that most OCs can be lumped into the self-insertion catagory oft labeled Mary Sue but I still defend them on principle that it's a good start for some writers to get going! I finished my last fic (for One Piece) a couple years ago and haven't written more than a one shot since but I still love DBZ and One Piece especially.
Do you still participate in fandom to any extent? I'm sort of excited to buy the new DBKai DVDs when they come out in May! ^_^; I also still attend anime cons and still do cosplay, despite my advancing age~!

Yes, as a matter of fact I am. I'm kind of new to the whole Dragon Ball Z fanfiction writing thing. I'm also thinking about dabbling in some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fanfiction as well. The writers in that fandom are so talented that I just simply have to write one. I'm not fooling, it has more quality then some of the DBZ fanfics I've been seeing although that fandom isn't bad either. It has it's ups and downs. Sadly, I think some of the talent is fallen by the wayside in the TMNT fanbase as well. Quality in fanfiction has changed so much. It makes me kind of sad.
I agree. People are so wiling to judge OCs simply for being female. I don't like Mary-Sues either, but I've read some pretty good ones from other fandoms. And while they're okay to start out with, the problem lies within the fanfic author. Some of them refuse to put effort and creativity into their OC, ignoring the setting completely. If they're going to treat their OC like that, then they should stick to writing original fiction. Seriously. I've seen one person trying to that in the Great Mouse Detective fandom.

Pardon me for triple posting, but I have some questions. (This may not be one of them, but do you sometimes wish these things come with an edit button?)
The first, well, it isn't a question but more of a compliment. I simply love your world-building in your fics such as the Rasha and the islands in One Piece. How long did it take you to come up with these ideas (NOW it's a question, lol).
Second. I notice there is a distinct pattern in your fics. Most of the time, some of the cannon characters are paired with an OC or someone else from the series. Example: Everlasting Z Warriors, you had Mirai Gohan paired with a young Mirai Bulma and in Dragonball AD, you had Gohan paired with an OC.
Had you ever considered pairing Piccolo with an OC? I noticed you had a Namek paired up with Zeni, the human idenity you gave to 18. Sorry, I'm a big Piccolo fan and I was just curious.
And last but not least, will you write for any Non-Anime material?
