I've been trying to stay away from fb. I deleted my account a month or two ago now as it was sucking away all my free time.

Np, and thank you for your kind words ^^ Yes, I have an obsession by eyes, I don't know very well why, they are so beautiful, so interesting, they have so many shapes and textures, they can be represented in so many ways, and I think that they are the most intense way of expression on a human being.. well, I love them xD

Yeah, I understand you, it can be a little vicious xD but I think that is a good way to share our work, here too, but here I find few people from my country (Portugal) and on fb is more easy to share my work with people from my country x)

Have you ever used mono-printing to make your eye work with? It's very textural, it has a rough and ready look but it can work really well for patterning and variation. When coupled with Photoshop to colour the iris and surrounding skin you could get some really powerful effects. I know people have used screen prints and lino printing in this way also.
