15 min walk is awesome. I was talking to someone else going into animation who had done pre-ani last year and he had like an hour commute. I love montreal, but a lot of the animation programs here are geared towards video gaming and i wanna work in film/tv. theres also a program at concordia u but apparently its very experimental animation and more independent filmy. i thought i was gonna go to school in toronto but then when it came down to it, i saw the algonquin open house and fell in love with it

I'm not sure if I'm going to orientation or not, I'm on the fence. lol. I would like too, mostly just to get a tour of the college because I feel like I'm missing stuff when I go down there myself to explore. To be honest, the thing that's holding me back the most is that I know I'm probably gonna be the oldest student there and orientation is usually catered to recent graduates from high school or ppl living on campus which I am neither.

O//O  Aw.. I'm glad you liked my art (for the most part lol), some of it is really... really old but I'm a bit of a hoarder and don't have the heart to take it down. lol

Oh really? I can see why you're on the fence. My mum works at Algonquin and she said that you at least get to befriend people before school starts, so that seems good. Well, I hope you go because I think it's a good opportunity, but if not see you in September!

Do you live in Ottawa? You should come down to the lifedrawing classes at Sandy Hill on Wednesdays. XD I go every week. There's a ton of professionals and graduates from the program that go so you meet a lot of useful contacts.

Mm. yeah, that's the main reason why I'm still considering going. I want to meet people that I'm going to be in class with. If I go, I might only stay for some of the orientation.  lol

Actually, I was planning to go this week! What a coincidence. I have a friend who goes sometimes and she said she'll take me there this week. Its also such good practice...

What's cool too is that some of the models there are also the models for life drawing at algonquin

I had Gustavo and some others for life drawing in Pre-Animation.

But yea I miss life drawing so I'm going to try and see if I can make it, because it would be cool to meet some other students and artists too

ya montreal is pretty awesome but there werent any animation programs that interested me. the ones here are mostly for gaming. i went to the open house for gonq and loved it. ive also heard loads of good things about the program

Same, I remember my guidance councelor tried to make me go to another school for animation but it was too far and expensive for me to attend. Lucking Algonquin has one and the stuff I've seen from the students are amazing.
