Hello! ^^
I really admire your wire work, particularly your ear cuffs. I've made simple cuffs myself, but I would really like to further develop my skills and get into wire wrapping. Do you know of any tutorials or have any suggestions for how to improve?

Thank you! I am the kind of person who likes to learn by experimenting, so I only used tutorials when I first started to use wire. I also found it really helpful to post my work and ask for feedback in the groups of wire artists on Facebook (I still do that). They also have links to a lot of tutorials, if it is easier for you to learn this way. I could give you some tips if you could show me some of the things you have done with wire and what kind of things you would like to make in the future.Β

(Sorry for the late reply, I had to collect some good photos of my works. ;D)
I do too, but I also like to have a good reference or similar starting point. I'm not on FB, but I can imagine it would be great for resources.
Here are some photos of my work. It's fairly basic because all I've had to work with so far has been a pair of needlenose pliers and household objects. The wire wrapped piece shown is the only one I've ever attempted.

Nice work, and I think you did a great job with that wire wrapping. The main problem I see here is about choosing the right type of wire. You need a thicker or harder wire for the shape, and a thinner, softer wire for wrapping. I usually have 20 gauge wire for the outer shape and 28 or 30 gauge for the wrap. You will also need a pair of round-nose pliers for the loops. You can start by searching for basic tutorials for wraps, like this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE8ILT⦠, and for making coils and loops. I suggest to close the loops at the ends of the wire, no matter what the tutorials show, because otherwise the wire might get caught in hair or clothes when worn or can scratch the wearer. I think these are the main things you need for the moment, along with time to play with the wire. If you have any question, I am here

I have been watching this project (mostly on Facebook) and I also admired Surbion1, but I didn't dare to ask to participate, because there were only great artists involved
