I had to do that so I could vote against the incumbent sherriff in the last election. His only challenger was another Dem, so the primaries were my only chance to be heard.
If it's of any matter, I voted for around 5 or 6 Dems in the last election

I don't want to stretch, but I don't think I am. It will be a cold day in America when a Democrat is handed the keys to the white house again. The populace is ageing and another 4 years puts the vast majority of the Baby Boomers in or near retirement age. Four years is also plenty of time to wrap up Iraq and Afghanistan and possibly fight another campaign. The new seats in the Senate and House will also aid in Judges and agendas getting through. Sadly, my state elected Salazar over Coors, but even there is a centrist Democrat. Daschle getting the boot is even sweeter to me than Bush getting another term. It's a crime what he orchestrated against Owens and Estrada, I hope one of them is pushed through now (I think Estrada withdrew his name, perhaps he'll change his mind).... and the 3 seats on the Supreme Court, that's a legacy in the making. The county by county map shows that the democrats have been driven back to their few strong hold counties. I don't see the heir apparent on the Dem side. It's not Hillary and I doubt it will be Edwards, it will be hard to find someone who can win. Too bad they've turned against people like Lieberman in favor for quacks like Dean.
The Republicans, however, appear to have a full slate of up and comers for 2006, 08, and beyond. I'll bet you $100 right now that Governor Bill Owens will be on a Presidential ticket in the next 8 years...
