Heheh, thanks Tuna girl, it depends on the specific work you´re talking about, but, normally you just need a brush you like, I choose one with irregular borders and plain color, some rules I use 1. no need for outline, just good contrast between colors 2. lines go within every individual solid color piece to add detail 3. no white, no black, lines use colors light/dark enough to make good contrast 4.after working on everything with plain color, feel free to use layers with gradients on top to add some subtile variantions to the main colors.
I just came up with this, that means I had no rules while painting that stuff, hahah, It´s all about having fun brainstorming different ways to paint your stuff, or mixing different stuff you like, and last of all, my big reference out there is Brazilian artist Reyner Alencar, go watch his stuff, he´s amazing!
