That was my first impression as well, until I started looking into the rest of the gallery.
The uploads all have a pretty consistent painting style for years. It's a really distinct style as well. Dating back to his first uploads in 2009, quite a long time. The recent anime girls are the only break from that consistent style established in all those years. However, this I have also seen in many deviants I respect, who test out another styles on occasion. He's not talkative in his comments, but then again there are many brilliant, well respected artists on my watch list that are the same, especially because of language gap.
Also, it would seem strange to start off a fake deviantart account with the works that he did ie. [link] Really truly, all of the work he's gradually posted over the past 5 years are odd choices for a fake account.
With all that in mind, I tend to think he is the real creator of these works. Until further evidence presents itself :>
