OMG... I can't believe I found you.. If I'm not mistaken, were you on the Warrior Cats Forum under the username that had something to do with "Wolf"?
If not, then someone has been stealing... still, amazing art <3

Thanks very much ~ both for the comment and the
Much appreciated!
I've never even heard of the Warrior Cats forum ~ if any of my work is on there, then it's just some sad, talentless person who's best hope of ever getting any praise is to pretend to do something they didn't. I'll take it as a compliment that they think my work's far better than anything they could ever do themself!

You're welcome ^^
Haha, I just saw the painting and flipped.. It's strange, too, because they had so much information ready about the piece, like what brush size and brand shed "used", plus paper type and how she even took the reference photo, that it was her own mare.
Glad you're taking it as a compliment rather than an insult.. I've seen some people deal with theft a WHOLE lot worse.

This is the first time I've ever been aware of anyone stealing my art ~ as crazy as it sounds, I'm pleased that my art is obviously good enough to want to steal! I'm really grateful for the gift I've got for painting, and nodody can take that from me ~ it's something I'll always have, and I get far more joy from it than anyone could get from pretending to do something they didn't.
Do you have a link to the forum page where it was posted? I'd be interested to see whether she's got any of the technical details right, and also to see any comments that were posted. (I'd also be interested to know which painting it was!)

lol I think I would feel the same way. XD Perhaps a little mad, but pleased all the same.
And unfortunately, I don't. It was posted sometime last year, and by now it will have been deleted by the moderators. I remember a few details, though.. that she used cold-press Strathmore watercolor paper, the mare was her own, and I know she said something about the brushes but I can't remember the brand. She also stated the paint she used, but I can't remember anything about that, either. She told this all to me after I asked what she used, because the painting was absolutely gorgeous and made me want to get into watercolors.
She had posted several amazing drawings and paintings, but whether those were stolen or not (they most likely were, though) I'm unsure. One was a Friesian referenced off this [link] an Exmoor mare and foal, and several ones of Arabians (which included Arabians high-stepping and a head study).
And it was this one she posted [link]
All the comments were of how talented she is, how amazing her artwork is, you know, the usual. It's a forum with very few Deviants, so I doubt any of them have ever seen it.

That's just made me laugh! Particularly the fact that she claimed it was her own mare ~ Heathpool Pentland is in fact a registered Exmoor stallion...
He belongs to a girl who used to be a trek leader with the herd of Exmoor ponies at the university in Edinburgh. Her friends commissioned the painting as a birthday present for her.
It's a shame it's not there anymore ~ it would have been fun to post a few comments correcting the details!
For the record ~ I use Winsor & Newton half pans (I find the tubes a bit too difficult to control!) and Derwent watercolour pencils for the finer details. I've got a variety of different sized brushes, and have recently been using Royal Soft Grip round brushes, size 10 and 6 mostly, and another tiny brush (the number's worn off and I can't remember what the size is!) that I use for the fine details. It probably would have been cold-pressed paper I used for Pentland, though I have a funny feeling it was Winsor and Newton Cotman paper...
I'm glad you liked the painting ~ thanks again for the comments

Oh, I'm sorry.. my mistake.
I just recognized one of your Exmoor paintings, but none of the others match up with this person's art. It's terrible that someone would go so far as to fully claim it as their's.. no humility.
