# About me

I studied Fine Art at University straight after graduating in High School, majoring in Painting (though unfortunately learning more about the theory of art rather than the practical and technical).
I went onto being a sales assistant at a picture framers for a number of years, only drawing the occasional sketch (university had burnt me out - I loathed to paint).
The next couple of years I dabbled in various jobs but after a stint at being an accounts assistant I was driven to pursue my childhood love of illustration.
So I went back to school, unfortunately there was no school specialising in illustration so the next best thing was to study Graphic Design which had a unit in illustration.
I worked as a graphic designer for about a year but it just wasn't me. During this time I joined a few online art groups (deviantART being one of them), I partook in a number of online art challenges (which I still continue to do). During this time I made friends with a number of very talented and important people (one of which is my boyfriend). Through my connections with these artists I was made aware of the vast number of opportunities, conferences and conventions there were overseas.
I made the decision to head to the US. I have been the US 3 times now during which time I completed a year at a comic school which helped me to work on some necessary skills including speed, organisation and some practical techniques like inking and flatting colours. I also was able to sample some of the awesome conventions the US has, the last one - Illuxcon - which made me realise I have a lot more to improve on if I'm to become a professional illustrator.
So here I am today, still a work in progress, but an illustrator nonetheless more determined than ever to make a go at becoming a professional illustrator.

That painting was pure digital-But if I have a commision I'll do a color sketch in the computer ,Have a giclee print made to size on canvas-Then overpaint-Ultimate in laziness but but quick & effective.
