That's sad, though. D: I'm sure you can still visit. Isn't it just a three hour drive? I hope you manage to work something out. ;-; How come you moved to Cologne for six months? I've been thinking about applying to Leipzig and Berlin's main unis, but I've only studied German for a year and a half so far.
I'm doing good, though, over all. My college started up for the quarter last week, so I've just been keeping busy. I just want to find the time for art and hiking.

I'll be coming back for a short holiday around Christmas to visit my work place and my friends : D
the way from Nuremberg to Cologne is a bit longer :'D it takes up to six hours, depending on the situation on the roads! also the train tickets are usually pretty expensive and I don't have a car so I have to take the bus and that reeeeallly takes super long :'D

I've had an internship at an animation studio in Cologne. it's part of my studies (I study Design in Nuremberg and my majors are Film and Illustration, so working there was perfect for me!) I heard a lot about the uni in Berlin and Leipzig should be pretty good too! and there's no tuition fees in Leipzig : D
I think it wouldn't be a problem to apply now, most young people speak english and I bet it'll be easier to learn german when you're around native speakers (:

Where exactly in the US do you live? are there good hiking places? cause for me, when I hear about hiking I always think about reaally alpine places. I used to go hiking with my grandparents when I was younger and we usually hiked up the mountains near our hometown. there's lots of them where I live : D

I really hope you'll find the time to draw and go outside and hike!! :3

Oh, I didn't know that! How bad do the roads get in winter along that way? You should focus on seeing them later on in the year though, if your departure makes you sad. After all, Christmas isn't that terribly far away. : ) 

Is there any particular style of animation you're interested in? Also, do you want to create your own works, or work on a team? I wish I could pursue something in the arts, but I think I'm already inclined to take on too many projects at once ;-; I'm studying mechanical engineering in Everett (it's just a port town here), so it kind of contrasts with my interests. It doesn't help my work load much, since I also am minoring in criminology. That being said, I really enjoy the technical side of creation. I'm hoping I'll be able to visit Germany sometime this next year to tour colleges to get a better feel for what I'm looking for.

I'm in Washington state : D It's the upper left corner of the country. I've heard our weather and landscape is quite similar, actually. We're not short on forests or mountains here, so there are always opportunities to hike. I couldn't imagine living in a place without the ocean near or rolling hills in the distance. It just seems unnatural. Although, I must say - your grandparents sound lovely. : ) I'm always trying to rope friends to go hiking with me, but they're typically unenthused since I prefer to go on pretty long ones. 

Pff- thank you. I'm currently avoiding my studies a little bit to paint. I can't work all the time, after all~ Education does not support my shipping habits, haha
