# About me
Professional illustrator/storyboard artist/comic artist living in Los Angeles, CA. Always had an interest in drawing and film since childhood. Drew my own comics and made little animated super-8 films with my twin brother growing up in Sacramento, CA. Went to The Academy of Art/USF in San Francisco. Started working at George Lucas' visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic around 1988, right out of school. Stayed there for 13 years, doing art for feature films and commercials including Ghostbusters 2, The Mask, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Men In Black, The Mummy. Left the Bay area for greener pastures and headed for Los Angeles on that fateful day of 9-11, dragging my girlfriend with me. After becoming a freelancer, I worked on Terminator-3, The Day After Tomorrow, The Chronicles of Riddick, Bolden, The Incredible Hulk, G.I. Joe 1 & 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Comics projects: Back-up stories in Marvel's "Agents of Atlas #1," and "Hulk Family #1." Appeared in small press anthologies "Zowie Deux," "Komikswerks: Thrills and Chills," "Secret Identities," "The Adventures of Unemployed Man," "Bela Lugosi's Tales From The Grave." Put together several self-published comics including "Babes In Space" anthology (featuring several ILM and Pixar artists); a sketchbook called "Striking Works" and a mini-crime comic "Art of Crime."# Comments

Great artwork, Benton. I agree with you about leaving the line alone. Guys like Terry Austin are my biggest inspirations. Please view my Gallery, if you want, and let me know what you think. Thanks for your time, and keep up the great work!

Hmmmm...I usually have a pretty good memory about these things. The name doesn't sound familiar. When and where?

Dude, it was a while back. I ran into your bro, Anson, at Alternative Press Expo 2011. I was in a storyboard class with him.

I don't remember, this was back in like 2004. Anson and I were taking classes at the Animator's Guild when it was on Lankershim Blvd. Were you at the Alternative Press Expo last year? It is totally ok if you don't remember, but it is great to see you work in this storyboard group. Does Anson have a deviant art account?
