The world is too close to us, that was/is the problem. The world still is close... The link between our world and our minds is still very strong, and we still have muses coming across that link. Someone (I don't know exactly who, I just know that it's someone that I can trust. Beta says, as do many others.) is guarding that link, and only lets the good muses across. And s/he has engaged in many many risks to keep us safe from the evil dogs.
