Been working pretty aggressively for a while, but I've been needing to do my own art for a while now to get back some fun and creativity. Also, need to start polishing skills and studying outside of work.
How's that E-Pad? One of my friends was thinking about getting one of those. Oh- have you seen the new wacom inkling too? That was pretty mindblowing to me. I think I'll have to get one of those as well.

The wacom is still a bit pricey for me here in NZ -
the ASUS eee-pad is great, I am enjoying the android system...
( Debra was addicted to Angry Birds for a while!
So what projects have you been working on? Or are they all top secret!

Well I worked on sims 3 for console a while ago. The game i just finished working on comes out in a month or so. I still can't say what it is which is weird since there have been press releases, but eh, what can you do? I'm also ramping up on a new project I can't say anything about.
Asus eh? I have an asus netbook. i lovvvve it. good brand!
so what have YOU been up to?

We've kinda outgrown the whole Sims for now - QQ is more into Borderlands at the moment. We have clocked it and he's going through it all again... The new RAGE game looks a bit like Borderlands and might be fun!
Still need to get INFAMOUS2 and am thinking of getting KILLZONE 3 ( we have a move + gun )
Shame you can't say anything ... not even a hint?!
Asus eee-pad rocks - I mean, ok - props to Jobs (rip) - but I have never been a big Apple fan...
The hunting mag is still going strong - going to a big national expo in the weekend. Doing a few websites and overall just enjoying life ( most important! )

Hi Erin,
I saw some of your artwork displayed on another website and managed to trace it back here to you.
I absolutely love your "Pirate Redo" piece and would like to ask you a question about it.
I am in a band that plays pirate themed music which is a pretty good laugh. It's nothing too serious or anything just yet but we are looking to record the album fairly soon. Is there any chance you would allow us to use "Pirate Redo" as part of the artwork? Of course you would be credited for the contribution whenever the image appeared.
Not sure if you'll end up checking this any time soon but thanks a lot anyway!
Paul

Hey Erin,
So I've had my deviantart for a while now, and I remember like 5 years ago you and I had gone back and fourth a bit about art, and you even recommended a few books for me to look at. (also, you did a ninja vs. pirate piece that I had said would look cool)
Well, 5 years later and I'm dusting off my deviantart and I took some time to look through your stuff(still amazing as usual) and I was wondering if you'd want to contribute to a clothing company I have.
The company is called [link] and my email address is drawjordan@gmail.com. I'd love to explain a bit to you, and see if you'd like to help out in what we're trying to do.
Thanks,
Jordan

I simply love your pictures man.
Seeing the graphite drawings you have early in your gallery sure makes me want to practice my own art so I can get to that level!
I might need to buy some graphite first though! Hah.

eRiQ In reply to bongoshock [2008-08-18 05:07:17 +0000 UTC]
nah -- just my regular design stuff - logos - flyers - run of the mill -
Just getting to know the rendering for SketchUp - as I have always wanted to play with that sort of stuff
but found most 3D programs so boring and hard to understand --
What are you working on? - note me if it might be hush hush -
QQ and I have been playing lots of AREA 51 on ps2 - yay! -
and are looking forward to SPORE in September ---- ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh ----
Ciao!

Oh I'm working on some video games at the moment. Cipher complex and a few unannounced titles. It's loads of fun even when my freetime gets eaten up.
Area 51 eh? is it the sequel? I was working at midway when they were developing that. I made lots of proxy models for that game when i was an intern. You know, I always thought the graphics and gameplay were better than the reviews gave credit for. Sure it's not groundbreaking, but it's fun!
I'm looking forward to spore too! that game looks REALLY fun!!

eRiQ In reply to bongoshock [2008-09-07 21:07:10 +0000 UTC]
Hiya --
We have the original Area 51- did you do anything for that -
QQ thought it was very interesting that you might have done
some of the graphics -- each time we were some place in the
game and he looked at bits, he said -- oooh -- maybe your friend
did this!!
SPORE is just a bit of a wait - untill QQ gets the money together --
Keep in touch!

bongoshock In reply to eRiQ [2008-09-08 00:25:35 +0000 UTC]
haha oops, no. i didn't work on the first game. I don't even know if the same company did that one. I don't have graphics in the second game either. Those are mostly Stephan Martiniere if I recall. I just did a bunch of proxy modeling (basically outsourcing prep packets for hi res 3d models).
I saw a special on Spore on the discovery channel. It looks cooler every time i see it!!

eRiQ In reply to bongoshock [2008-09-08 05:11:36 +0000 UTC]
ahh ... what a shame - -
We always love just walking around in games like that - just to see the graphics --
Read the posters - see all the bits -- today we shot a drinks machine and all the cans came out
and we tried to shoot them as far as we could... or we leave bullet messages around in the glass --
Also with Burnout Revenge we like driving around slowly - looking at the shops in the city -
So - what PS2 games have you done any work on?
OOOOHHH -- we SO want SPORE - - - - - - - the ultimate edition (Galactic) comes with that discovery channel DVD as well --

i did a little bit of work on the incredible hulk video game that just came out this summer. I came on in the very tail end of the dev cycle though so I only concepted a few things like a bomb and a big gun turret.
btw, if you do end up picking up blacksite area 51, when you shoot the soda machines, money comes out. hehe. there was a big discussion about that when i was interning at midway because some people thought it was cheesy. i thought it was funny though.
if you play halo at all, the first game has a whole lot of stuff you can do if you go running around in the level. there are lots of places where you can jigger yourself up into parts of the level you're not supposed to. in one of the multiplayer maps, you can actually get on top of the skybox and walk around. I like getting into high places and looking for the seams in the sky texture.

Cool - haven't seen / played the Hulk yet ---
Sounds like fun! -
(( do you actually play these games yourself - - what game is your fav at the mo? ))
Blacksite 51 is only for PS3 - - we are still in PS2 mode -
QQ and his friends play Halo at one of his friends,
he always talks about it - - -
But while he was here for a week - it has been SPORE all the way!
(( 14th this month I am getting my thingee removed - -- - ))
