I know what you mean. I work by referencing as well. That's why I don't ask for credit when people do perler versions of my pixelarts. I haven't drawn the originals, so I feel I have no right to claim anything as mine.

You just have to buy some perler or Hama beads (fuse beads) that you easily find in stores for kids or craft stores. Then you can make your own pattern or check on google what you want by searching hama beads... It's very easy to make. If you need any help let me know.
