We would have preferred it to be a little cooler (Texas is so random with its weather... it decided to heat up that weekend.... of course! LOL!), but the sunlight especially at sunrise and sunset made for spectacular bursts of color and light/shadow play. I couldn't stop staring. Definitely inspiring! (and the sound of the breeze through the trees, with the falling leaves and swaying pines.... sooooo relaxing!)

Awww, it seems you definitely had an amazing celebration of your Birthday!
Well, I understand but it would be worse if it was cold, wouldn't it? It's almost snowing in our coutry so I can hardly imagine staying out for a night and enjoy fall-camping. It would be nice, no doubt but I'd be frozen to death!
I can imagine the sunlight and the sunsets, better than fireworks! I love watching it as well, it's breathtaking! And going thru waterfalls of golden falling leaves, aww! The calm. No rush. Yeah! Sounds you had a great time there!

It hit about 90F during the day and was only about 65F at night I think (and the inside of the tent held the heat for a while, so most of the night I was still trying to stay cool). I definitely understand too-cold (especially with snow) being just as miserable as summer heat, but as I get older I tolerate heat less and less. It was more like a "lighter" Texas summer than autumn for us those days.    Maybe we can get a more comfortable autumn-like cooler outing or two before it gets to be too cold (or rainy), but we should still have some time before that happens.

Definitely a good recharger relaxing in nature for a few days... I'm spending today cleaning, and I am smiling and in good spirits. I definitely needed it! Best Wishes!

I think it's nothing new that the differences between day and night temperatures are higher when the day is hot. Still 65F in night is quite good I think - quite warm, not cold, good for sleeping. It happens in our coutry that it's about 90F in day and then only about 50F in night. That's awful...
But well, yes, the tent keeping hot air that's kinda problem but still you can take your sleeping bag and go sleep outside. Or just sleep without any blanket or whatever and with open tent for air circulation.
Anyways,  I get your point, I can't stand the heat as I used to anymore... In cold you can put on another layer of clothes but in heat, well... That's problem, you can't get completely undressed or even put off your own skin.
After all I wish you managed to reach your goal and go for another trip or two when the weather gets milder and still not too cold!

So good to hear that you feel fine! I'd need some rest myself! Well, hopefully after all the relaxation and inspiration there might be another drawing, right?
