Yeah, I didn't last long in GW2 because of the lack of, or the quality of RP I was finding there.  Loved the game and the world, but it just wasn't sociable enough to keep me interested.  I was playing a Nord Ranger there, I was happy just staying in the Nord areas and reviving players of other races, just to scold them on "why they should stay out of the North".  The response I got was usually along the lines of: "lol my quest lead me up here."

Sadly, that's pretty much been the experience I had in every game I tried since CoH.  I just keep hoping another game comes along that attracts a similar community to what CoH had.

if it wasn't for wvw I would have left a long time ago. So far I still find it fun with the occasional random steam game as a distraction

Aww yeah, wvw was really enjoyable!  I've been mostly doing the Steam thing as well, and getting my RP fix on Storium.

It's really neat.  I was never personally big into forum RP before, but Storium gives the tools to make it feel a bit more immersive.  The only downside so far; has been players/storytellers joining games, then going all flaky and vanishing mid game.

I've been trying out fps games a bit. the FTP ones like heroes & generals and War Thunder. I found that I really am a terrible pilot but I'm good at hiding in a bush and shooting people looking the other way. XD Basically if I can win through lazy underhanded ways I do pretty well!..

That sounds like me when I would play those types of games!  I played Planetside years ago with some guild friends, I wanted to be this badass pilot of a character.  Then everytime I flew I would just get shot down after 30 seconds.  So I just went back to shooting from the shadows. 

I don't even need to get shutdown, I often just end up crashing myself!

So I started a new tactic in war thunder I just fly right into the ball of enemies and shoot everyone. works out ok so far! We sometimes even win!

It's a lot of fun, but the entire time I played I was thinking how awesome it would be if there was a chat system to RP in, and if there were areas of the city you and your guildies could claim as their "turf" to build up, and defend from rival gangs.  So yeah, I'm wanting it to be an MMO I guess.

I actually played that with a bunch of Virtue people, back when it originally launched.  I did have a blast with it, and we were probably the only people on the entire server who attempted to RP.  Sadly it was just missing so much back then, then they suddenly shutdown out of nowhere (before it relaunched).

Yea I could see it had a pot of potential for modern rp. I just didn't have the heart to sink that kind of time into rp though so I quit playing. Killing everyone I see in gw2 is enough for me now. 0 time invested in flakey rpers. 100% return in fun murdering everyone in world vs world!

Yea and what is nice is I don't require anyone else to do anything but die. It's the ultimate rp.
