I'm just wondering, why did you say *JinxMim 's stock isn't valid? I used one in one of my latest manips, so I was curious....

She takes images from the internet to turn them into tubes. 7 images in her Lilac Birds pack were taken from a flickr user. You can find 5 of them here: [link]
If you have a look at the profile of this flickr user, you can see, that he doesn't want his photos to be used for artworks. So he filed a request to dA and got that lilac bird pack removed from dA. She has taken images from other flickr users and from online auctions. That auction website unfortunately doesn't seem to have reacted yet or they still look for more stolen photos than I've linked them. But basically all stock packs from *JinxMim 's gallery seem to be made from copyrighted content that belongs to someone else and therefore isn't valid stock. If an artist uses stock, that turns out to be stolen, I think the copyright owner might try to have the artworks taken down if they find out. I guess, I should write a note to speed up things.

I ended up doing a 2nd entry, a flower wallpaper, for week 171...hopefully it got in (it was entered before time ran out. I 'suggested it as a fave'; I think that's the right way?

Hmm... strange. It didn't turn up in the group's inbox. I hope, it isn't because of the time counter widget I've installed. And when I submitted it as a favourite to the "Current entries" collection, I had to vote it in, which I don't have to when I submit a favourite to the stock pool collection.

I think there might be something glitchy with the submissions, if you try to submit to the group it says you can't and if you try to submit to the fav's it keeps coming up with a retry button which may be why you're getting so many copies of each submission.

Yes, it came through - several times! I'm not sure why, but people are not notified when a deviation is accepted into a group's faves (like we are with normal faves by individual deviants)

As stated at the top of the page, any art medium is accepted when entering the weekly challenge

Do stock images have to be used. I really don't use them. I only use bases for poses, thats all.

Well, that's the whole point of this group ... it's a weekly contest where we choose a stock image for everyone to manipulate and/or use as reference. Only entries for the contest will be accepted (which are submitted to the favourites, rather than the galleries). All the information is on the top left of our home page.
