# About me

I never really thought of myself as an artist, honest. I actually was a novelist and poet with only a few sketches and a few storyboard ideas. One day after work I went through my sketches and realized that I might have potential when working with pen and ink, oil pastel, and water color. In October 2009 I started drawing after more than four years of doing absolutely no art work at all, and what is in my gallery is a result of of the art work I have done since that fateful night when I picked up the pen and drew once more. I am aiming at incorporating surreal, bizarre, and natural elements into my art work in order to tell stories in a circular format. My training as a social cultural anthropologist helped me to learn about different world cultures as well as get a glimpse into the art that different countries create. This helped influence my work to date. Oral traditions used to be an important facet of human society, as well as art, it was our main medium of communication before the written word, and I am glad to finally be a part of the artistic community. I hope that you enjoy my specific style which incorporates animals, surreal creatures, and involves much experimentation and story telling.
