Courtney,
What lenses do you use now?
Do you specifically want to use "primes" or have you thought about zooms?

I mainly use my 60mm 2.8 & my 50mm 1.8. I also have a 28-135mm 3.5-5.6 & the standard kit lens.
Right now, I'm looking into buying a new lens, but I'm not sure which to get first. I'm stuck between a 85mm 1.8, a 50mm 1.4, & a 35mm 1.4. I'll probably get one of the first two, because the third one is so expensive right now.

The 60mm is macro?
Get the 85mm 1.8. It will be your most used lens. 94% of all fashion, portrait, glamour is shot with 85mm, for the perspective it gives.
The zoom is ok at f8-f11, I would only use it if I absolutely had to, just not that sharp, but good for a softer look, mood.
Forget the 50mm 1.4, you have the 1.8, and the difference in light is not that great. Every pro I know threw away their 50mm that came with their camera (old days)...
The 35mm 1.4 is kick-ass! BUT, very expensive.
Get the 85! Use only it for 14 days. For everything. Then look at all your images, notice how the perspective on it is different from your 60, 50.
You might find the 85 will be your fav.
My 2 cents worth...
John

Yes, it's a macro ! It's really an awesome lens. I think it was worth every penny.
But thank you so much ! Seriously ! I appreciate your advice a lot, 'cause I'm basically just figuring out all this stuff by myself. I'm most likely gonna go for the 85. I wish I could afford the 35, but maybe one day
Thanks again

Like I said, the 85 will be your main lens, hardly ever take it off, except to shoot landscapes/architecture, wide scenes.
You also might look into buying a used lens from KEH. They have been dealing in used camera gear for 40-50 years. I know many pros who swear by them! Go to their site ... keh.com
