Loving your Drizzt armor, but your website unfortunately isn't working. It won't work on internet explorer or safari. Any suggestions?

Hey Mate, love your work! I was just wondering if you have a FB page I could follow, I almost never use DA.
I'm actually going to be attempting to re-create one of your Menpo designs with a few of my own bits added, with credit given where credit is due of course. Let me know if you have any issues with that.
Also feel free to check out my FB page, AusFX:Β www.facebook.com/studioAusFX

I'm wondering, how often do your full leather suits actually sell? If that's an appropriate question that is. I've been looking on ebay and I'm quite disgusted with how cheaply mandmade armor is being sold and it's discouraging to my hopes of selling more chainmaille and leather armor.

Sebastien,
The first thing I want to say is don't be easily discouraged. Perseverance is mandatory if you plan to embark on the rough road of a self employed artist. Your question isn't out of line. In the last year I've sold over a dozen full sets and another dozen partial sets and hundreds of single items and pairs. It's almost enough to make a living but some months are pretty lean and we have to bite the bullet. Secondly don't sell your work for less than you think its worth but don't over price yourself out of a job. It's a tightrope act and everyone is competing with you for the rope. There are a lot of good artists out there so if you can't do it for the right price at the right time, someone else can. I've been doing leather armor for quite awhile now and I find the market to be seasonal and sporadic. Marketing and sales are a big part of selling your wares and services; you gotta put yourself out there and follow up on every inquiry that comes your way. I get about one third return for my diligence. I'm one guy making a lot of armor for a lot of people so my biggest problem is turn around time. People don't want to hear that they have to wait three or four months for something they pay for today. I complete my commissions on a first come first serve basis and I usually can't do deadlines unless someone commissions the work well ahead of time. If I had two more of me I could probably fulfill all the potential commissions that come my way. The bottom line is, you have to work real hard to maintain constant sales and constant production with no guarantee that you'll have a paycheck this week or the next and no one to complain to but yourself. Personally I wouldn't choose to live my life any other way but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. The artist or poet must live his/her life like a warrior taking each day as a battle to be won or lost with dignity and honor to oneself. Nothing else matters! We are all warriors and that is why we fight so hard in this war called life. Well I went off on a slight tangent there, enough of that blather, just try to have fun doing what you love to do. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Dale

Thanks, I compeltely agree with what you're saying. My main problem is all my business has pretty much been just in jewelry, lots of small items that I sell at events. But I just want to focus on armor and sales on that are so hard to do, especially with chainmaille where you can get a hauberk for pennies on the dollar made in china or india. I was wondering because your prices on leather armor are fair but some people are charging far less, but it's great to hear that you actually get them sold for what they're worth (less even in my opinion some of your pieces are worth twice what you charge.) I have some sketches for an armor suit I want to make and I'm just wondering if it'll even make any return on investment. Thanks for the kind words and advice, really appreciate it, and there's nothing wrong with going on a temngent every now and then

Dean,
Thanks, that was one of my first armor sets. Your gallery is great, it takes me back to my days of model building and making diaramas for them. Nostalgia and inspiration all in one place.

Hello Dale I was just browsing though the Deviant universe and I found your page and checked out your gallery. I just have to just say WOW just WOW!!! Your armor is so cool and just so awesome! I love your concepts! I really enjoyed looking through your gallery. Your armor has helped inspired me and has given me a brand new idea for armor and all sorts of things. Thank you for sharing your talent and imagination with the world. If you don't mind I added you to my watch list and I'll be using both you and your armor as reference for my new work if you don't mind. Keep up the awesome work dale and again thank you!
