Are you going to add more stuff into the trenchpunk group? If you were to add just one a day, we’d have enough for over a year. Especially since I’m making sure that each two i add a day are two new ones. And I’m probably adding more than two a day to my favorites- so lots of content!

youtu.be/2Dj5fWYvSx8 historical description & reenactment of the Fauchard/Guisarme. Despite it being a medieval weapon, for me it doesn’t β€œfeel” medieval if that makes any sense. I’m a bit of a pole-arms enthusiast- looking at how they worked- with hooks to cut saddles or took hook up an opponent’s weapon, swordsmen don’t really stand much of a chance against a proper pole-arm. It’s this nasty gritty part of it- like looking at how the examples in the video were used it felt almost mechanical. WWI may have temporarily returned the use of percussive weapons but they definitely could have benefitted from renaissance expertise in hand-to-hand weaponry. I’ve noticed the medieval elements of what you’re putting in trenchpunk, I’m curious as to what you think of the scary elements of pole-arm usage, ( I don’t really have much love for the sword or cavalry, I’ve been trying to find my military heritage magazine depicting how peasants & men-at-arms in I believe the 1100s was the first major battle in Europe where a cavalry charge was kept at bay by pole-arm users who chose ground to nullify the charge and take down what was the cream of the crop of cavalry), or of the role of military personnel who either aren’t of the social β€œnoble” elite( draftees/enlistees/dragoons/or peasant militias) or are of an unsavory nature ( like mercenaries/vikings/pirates/privateers). I noticed you tend to gravitate towards the elite.

Could you have your trenchpunk work in a separate gallery instead of just the featured section? I think you’re on to something here, it’s a very interesting β€œgenre”- enough material from real life for ages, and obscure enough that you have little competition for this particular section of retropunk fantasy.

I imagine since your trenchpunk world is kingdom based, trench lines & fortifications would extend more across city/province/kingdom lines rather than from sea to sea? I’d imagine siege warfare is pretty difficult to draw especially post medieval siege-warfare where walls are star-shaped & there’s trench lines, artillery, etc. But it is interesting to think about- I’d imagine trench lines would be effective around a large metropolitan area with fierce fighting- it’s interesting to think of units like forlorn hope, Sappers, Grenadiers, miners, Snipers, etc.

You have a whole trenchpunk series, and I’ve yet to see a single trench I’m curious is your trenchpunk series focus just on the short-twentieth or does it have roots in the long-nineteenth?
